  • Much more selective about where I spend time on the internet.

I'm finding myself spending much less time on the internet these days. I don't know if the novelty is wearing off or if it's my age or if I'm getting burnt out. The only forum I'm interested in is this one. I may look around a little bit for information on a topic but other than that and this forum, I'm not much interested.

    Anyone else noticing something similar?

I visit a couple of poker forums but there isn't nearly as much traffic as here.

I think of this as my internet "home" these days.

I also spend time on Facebook but frankly I'm getting bored with it.

I spend a lot of time here. I don't post a lot but I feel I have friends and I have met some of you. I also look at FB but post very rarely and am really fed up with all the private advertising stuff that goes on. It is mostly used by me for private messaging.

I also read our local website. And I have an interest in a forum that deals mainly with people like me who live in old buildings and want to improve them sympathetically.

I got hooked on computers in general 32 years ago when I was expecting my youngest son and took a temping job in a laboratory of men who were so bright they had serious problems. I was fascinated and still am. My degree is in computers and management.

Most of my Intertime is spent on the Vine, Amazon & Ebay. If I get bored, I'll have a game of Bejeweled.

I don't spend too much time on specific sites but flick back and forward following threads/train or thoughts/random pieces of information.

Facebook to find out what the kids are up to (and look at the village site where I have just asked Lucy if I can have the vintage 3 seater chesterfield she is giving away for free), the freebie sites because they are great for garden stuff (98 slabs recently) and thats about it......Oh I forgot the Vine.

Jay-ell - l'm a bit like you, I like to think that I'm a bit of a 'lateral thinker' so can easily distract myself whilst say doing housework/ cooking etc to do a bit of a gooooogle.
I love having all that knowledge at my fingertips!!!

As a child my mom said I was always asking ' what's that....what's that?' And pulled things apart to see how they worked.
Yup...I love to goooogle and could distract myself for hours if I had the time/ inclination

How else could I become "Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple ?

Oh....I also like to read the BBC news online as we don't order any English papers here and so I don't need to bother turning the TV on !

I spend most of my time on the Vine. Have heard there are other gardening forums but hey why the best one is here so why go looking.
I do admit I do like looking at houses in other areas to see how expensive it would be to move there and livings costs there. A bit sad I know but when I win the lottery I know where I will be moving to

I am spending a lot of time watching the Springwatch webcams, they are really fab. And here of course and I'm a mod on another forum but it's so friendly and slow moving there's not much to do on it!

I'm on fb but don't like it and I don't like Youtube much either, I sound like a grumpy old woman don't I!!
