I live close to both a chippy and an Indian takeaway. You can get very p!ssed off with the smell particularly in the summer. They are in the residential area of a small country town.

This is probably weird, but a memory from when I was a toddler, coal smoke and burnt porridge.

Interesting. I hadn't realised it was a competition.

Fresh baked bread, coffee, onions softening in butter..

                          Ginger. Mint.

                          Lilacs, honeysuckle, sweet peas.

                          Tomato plants.

Damp, warm tent canvas. Freshly mown grass. Silage. Fresh rain on hot concrete.

My son. Cleo-kitty (she smells of concrete dust and candyfloss. No idea why.)

Old books. The McVities factory on a chocolate biscuit day.

                          Line-dried laundry.

Rum punch. Mulled wine. Mince pies. Christmas trees and wood smoke.

                          Paint. Marker pens.

Lake District water, running over stones.

(I am seriously blissed out, right now!)

Pipe smoke. It is not a smell I come across very often these days but it reminds me of my grandparents house and my grandad sitting in his chair reading the paper whilst smoking his pipe. Just a whiff of it brings back happy childhood memories

Waking up to the smell of my mums roast dinners.

Yes you read right waking up. Saturday night was always a good night and I'd sleep through to mid day till my breakfast of roast dinner. Glad to say I grew out of that...

                                Otherwise,

                                Tomato vine
                                Summer rain
