Ric was one of the first people I spoke with when I got my plot and one of the first questions I asked him was about security and he told me of this incident. It is a rare occurrence according to him and several other plot holders, and he was given a few shed alarms (Offered me one for when I get my shed up in fact) by the local Police. He's a really nice guy, and as all the other plot holders have said, the risk is always going to be there for theft on allotments, though it has been few and far between in this area.

It's one of the reasons I want land for proper premises elsewhere, not that it will discourage a determined thief, but at least I can put in proper security and secure anything I have to leave on site eventually. That and I can train up a few guard dogs to leave there which I can't do on the lottie.
