My dog, the one on my avatar loves the water.
Last year on a hot day but not as hot as these couple of days we just had, she was doing her usual thing, playing with the kids in the large blow up pool we have and chasing the water around and around.

After a few hours of doing this she collapsed in a snotty heap, suffering from sun/heatstroke , took a good hour or so of dripping water over her and fanning her head to cool her down to get her on her feet, took the rest of the evening to get her back to normal, pretty scary and the first time id ever seen that, lately we have had to call her out every now and then so she takes a break.

Cooler here today with a breeze but the sun is trying to get out from behind the clouds!

We had a collie that sadly died last year of old age but he was nuts - he ran rings around everyone and anything. I had to tie him up to stop him on several occasions when the weather was hot as he had the same thing happen to him in his early years as he just wouldn't stop. He hated being tied to my chair leg but it was for his own good.

        Raining here such a relief

Yes, mines the same Scarlet. When we take her down the river she just runs in a straight line along the river bank, mouth wide open catching the water like a hoover lol, when the water gets too deep ( strange but shes not keen on swimming just chasing ) she turns around and goes as far as she can in the other direction and then repeats lol.....

It was 31 degrees in my front room at 2am this morning when I decided to risk going to bed. Though with all the windows open and the balcony door wide open a nice breeze was getting pulled through so it didn't feel it.

Glad I have a King Size all to myself, spent the first hour playing hunt the cold spot while watching Hunt for Red October and getting myself drowsy.

Today was nice, spent near 6 hours down the lottie. Mostly spent covering in and around the Bonsai trees with weed control fabric and then adding fired clay as a topping. Also started building a raised bed for my Lupins and Agapanthus which I've been growing from seed.

Bit of faffing around in the Shed, added another padlock and installed the freebie Shed alarms.

Weather warnings in my area for the next 2 days, but what caught my attention as I mooched the BBC weather report for my area this morning had me howling for hours...

Genuine Screenshot from the Official BBC weather site, no Photoshopping, I promise you.

I had it in my head if said with a deep West Country accent... Sounds like a good start to the day! Ooooh arrr ohhh arrrr. (No offence intended to anyone from the West Country mind!)

Couple of days ago, when it was really hot, I filled one of the dog's plastic beds with water and threw their toys into it.
Spud worked out how to paw the toys to the side of the "pool" so that he could pick up the toys without getting very wet.
Ted wasn't impressed and wimped out of getting wet at all.
Bessie, after a bit of practice, would jump in, paw the toys to flip them up and fetch them out to be thrown in again.
Guess who also got wet in the process? It was fun though

Last night was bad for me, 2am saw me retreat downstairs to my recliner and my fan.

Tonight promises to be better down to about 16'c at this time.

One of the films I have on a Hard drive at all times, as I can watch it along with the others on the HDD endlessly. (Top Gun, Blade, Gladiator etc)

With October though, I'm always watching to see if Sean's (at the time $20,000) hair piece moves, lol.

I really hate the heat during the day. I never go abroad in the summer cos I'm not good in the sun but at night, no matter how hot it is I'll sleep under the duvet

I've only turned the electric blanket off in the last couple of weeks
I do like a hot bed although the last couple of nights have been challenging under a Tog96+ duvet

The last two days was a nightmare to work in a restaurant kitchen. I put a thermometer and was 46c. I could go home considered not that health and safety rule you can decided to not work on environment over 40c.. But then I will make a nightmare after for me working with the other colleague ahaha. I enjoy the break outside though. I went to the plot got some beans red currant a strawberry and sat down in the sun enjoy eating them.
