Used to get some cracking eels in our local river after dark, not done that for a while though.

Tutti frutti or elderflower flavour at this time of year ( not sure how I know that).
Don't know much about course fishing but love sitting on a jetty at home(Australia) before breakfast and catching a couple to take home to eat.
Have fished by the sea here for hours and hours and hours, using the same bait, rig and technique as other successful anglers at the same spot and only taking home 'pity' fish from the bulging bags of others!
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

Tutti Frutti is a popular summer bait amongst Carp anglers, I'm sure Jonny will confirm.

My all time Carp bait was a cigar rig out of half a slice of bread............I think surface fishing is something to be witnessed.

And there was me thinking fishing was all hooks and maggots, I have to be honest and say I have little or no idea what you are talking about.

As far as I know a good cigar rig is made of silver and is used to cut the end off prior to sticking a hole down the length of the cigar so you get a good suck without your cheek muscles collapsing.
