A Cracking Moon last Night!

We are only a week off the longest day, but the weather has been very grey. Last night the northerly winds went round to the south and the skies cleared and when the moon came up it was glorious! I took this at 12.20 last night from the front garden.



Anybody else got any good twilight shots from their patch?

Absolutely cracking photo Jennie. You could publish that. And what a sensational view from your garden.
I've tried taking photos of the moon when it looked really sensational but never had any success. You've inspired me to try again.
I think I do have some dusk pics of the tracery of tree branches against the sky. I'll have a look and if they're any good I'll post them. But I don't think they'll match yours. Wonderful.

Cracking moon, cracking photos Jennie. Although I have no photos of the moon, I have some shots I took camping (well, sleeping rough) en route walking from Glasgow to Cape Wrath. The best were taken from Beinn Eighe looking west at sunset - will dig them out and post them.

Glad you like them. I didn't do anything particular with the camera. Just the digital on auto, but no flash. Actually there was a boat on the loch, someone must have been fishing and I could actually hear them talking! Wish I could have done a video! (Probably saying - "see that idiot taking a photo .......... it'll never come out")

Tonight I went to shut the greenhouse door at 11.45 and it was still daylight.

Great photos - you have a huge front garden! Your pond looks more like a lake!!

One thing though, under EU legislation, are you allowed to mention the words "crack" and "moon" in the same sentence?

Wow, fantastic photos Jennie! I tried to take something similar in Sardinia last year looking over the bay but they are nowhere near up to yours. What a great place to live as well. Last night here was far too wet and windy out of doors to take the camera out, not that I'd have got much if I tried haha!

like moggssue, I would have gotten very wet and not much else last night - the rain hammered down overnight. Haven't seen the sky today yet.

Wow, what superb piccies Jennie! I took some long exposure ones of the moon once in the middle of winter, with a bare tree in front of it, came out very well, but havent seen it for a few years now, think it may have got lost in a house move unfortunately!
