  • What do you do when it rains.........?

A bit of rain is all very welcome, as we know, but this weekend is looking to be a washout - here at anyrate - so what do you grapes all do with the time that you'd normally be out there helping things grow, but you're confined to quarters instead?

I had a remarkable peice of forethought and went to the Hill for a couple of hours weeding last night as it was fine, and the weekly shop will be done this morning in the rain.....but I'll be kicking my heels later...

    What do you suggest?

And I'll be asked the mods to remove anything inappropriate..e.g. spring cleaning/reorganising the kitchen cupboards/doing all the sewing repair jobs that have built up/filing in the office and that sort of thing.

Being a normal male I sit and watch my wife doing the necessary housework!
Actually, the advantage of having a large work shed is that I can go and do all the indoor gardening type jobs which need doing.
I also read, gardening books, of course and play on here.
If I am in the mood I either carry on typing out the stories I write or work on a new one.
I used to do a lot of free hand embroidery, but the arthritis in my fingers has stopped that now, sadly.
Anyway, it is not raining so I am off out!

Thinking of items to post on the vine.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Know just what you mean Hazel! I'm bored as well! Was going to go down to the lottie, but not in this weather, and my back is aching as well.
Its forecast even more rain for tomorrow, so again methinks lottie is out. Good job I got my weeding finished earlier in the week!
I had a lie in - got up at 730am - shopping at 8am. Came home watched Saturday Kitchen - going to have a play in the greenhouse this afternoon methinks - I find it so peaceful and quiet in there, when it rains, it reminds me of holidays as a child in the caravan! Bernie

                    fed up in the rain

tidied up the airing cupboard. Then had to take stuff out again to extract cat who had sneaked in.

SO much work to do but playing with puppies takes priority, turf 'em out into the garden while I clean up their pen then let them in for a play with the big dogs. When they get tired and go to bed, clean up the mess they've made and then start all over again. What time wasters, but I just can't resist!

                      Some puppy pics here:

Sorry, but I've been doing the long neglected housework, shredding old (very old) paperwork, etc. Just come on the Vine for a bit of light relief.

Spent the morning doing a frantic amount of housework. Madmax is home so going to spend the afternoon snuggling up on the sofa - off to see what movies are on.

Hmm, no space for me on the sofa Madmax has crashed out! Might go do some baking instead.

Sadly I have no greenhouse to play in - so I guess there is nothing for it but to vac, clean health hazard of a kitche, clean fish tank - then nice jobs like baking (abbey crunch biccies, do you reckon?)......

Bake before cleaning the kitchen or you will have to clean it all over again
