Evening all, back after a lovely weekend in South Ayrshire, no internet at all this weekend...must have been the lunar eclipse! Shen, we saw that beautiful sunset tonight too on the drive up home, it was absolutely stunning, the sky looked as though it was on fire! Hope this finds everyone well, off to catch up on the posts I've missed!

Good morning all. I know its very early but is anybody looking at the sky tonight. The clouds are like crazy paving around the moon. I have tried to take pics but they are not showing up. Hope somebody sees this lovely sky tonight.

Mornin all! :
Missed that bramble....but can't believe how late it is staying dark in the mornings! The hour difference over here makes it so much darker, but I suppose we still have light evenings.
Can't go and get our kitchen today as we have a plumber coming in and want to make final decisions with him.
Also need to cap the chimney to make the kitchen watertight.
It's a huge, wide opening 2m wide by 1m deep at the wooden lintel . Apparently it's early 1600s as it's lined with granite stones held together with mud and the outer canopy has wooden struts and mud braced together with a horizontal wooden lath.
I love the living history of this house!Last edited by Nicos; 29-09-2015, 06:26 AM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Morning all. Very cold here first thing taking OH to work. Was like this yesterday and it turned into another lovely day.
Down allotment this morning fighting with the fruit bushes and a bramble. Dug 3 dead bushes out yesterday. They are so closely packed together I take a size 4 shoe and I couldn't get my feet between some of them.
So first job is going to be to hack the bramble down a bit. The thorns on it are massive and its everywhere. Then wade into the fruit bushes again.
Have a good day everyonesigpic

Morning all. Up early so that I could take the stones out of 5 pounds of damsons whilst I was waiting for the coffee to drip through. The damsons have been in the freezer so that when they defrost they are slightly squidgy, then I can get my hands in and squeeze them out of the fruit. Messy job but I still have not found a better way of doing it. The fruit and sugar are quietly jamming as I type this. Another lovely day in store. I have some appointments today but still ought to be able to fit in a couple of hours at the plot

Morning all another lovely sunny but chilly morning, just what I like. Off out for some shopping therapy and afternoon tea with my friend today. Really should be staying home to do laundry and sort out the garden but hey...
Bramble had a look out last night after reading your post, unfortunately it was cloudy.sigpic

Busy morning here today - here on the forum I mean not here at home Sun is definitely smiling. Am going to make an effort to tidy up the front garden which always gets neglected in favour of the back. Hope everyone enjoys their day.LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Morning all,
Off to the market to the veg plug plant stall, hoping he has got his onions in, my bed is ready so here´s hoping. I most likely will come away with far too many broccoli, cabbages and lettuces. My ladies have gone to their new home so don't have the excuse of food for them anymore.
Need to do a big harvest and get things in for storage, but it seems like such a big job and i´m being lazy, meh.I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Glorious sunny morning here. Off to walk in the park and then have a security firm coming to fit some extra secure locks and bolts to our doors and windows.
The ammount of burglaries has increased so much that we thought it best to add exrea security.

Wrapping parcels for my son's business. The biggest 2 are being collected so I'm stuck here until the couriers have been.
The builders started demolishing my old kitchen yesterday so the house is full of dust despite the doors and windows being shut. It got so bad that when I made a cup of coffee it had a layer of dust on the surface, me and the dogs went out. The dogs can't believe their luck, they're getting frequent walks 'cos I can't let them out in the garden at the moment. Just as well the weather's lovely.
On Thursday I will be under siege as my new front door is also being installed. I might disappear out for the day.
I'm not complaining, I've waited 12 years for this, the last 6 years in a semi building site, and the last 2 with no heating or hot water!"I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
