  • Good evening Folks, it was rather cloudy today and starting to feel cold again, decided to try cleaning out a raised bed and couldn`t get the spade into it for tree roots, my neighbour has seven sycamores a cherry and some privit bordering my garden the trees are all self seeded and cause me a lot of bother, with roots and shade, but if I didnt have the roots to get rid off I would very likely have to do some papering, so even the worst things can cause some good
Well I am going to go upstairs and check the room I am decorating while OH. is watching a film she recorded, I left one of my books up there, so can read that and win some brownie points.
Well I wish You all a good night, and enjoy your weekend, and dont be driving, I might want to go somewhere Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

    • Morning everyone Hope the weather stays dry today to get out and start repotting some veg. Thinking how much easier it would be to have some raised beds in the garden -maybe next year. Looking forward to reading new copy of Grow Your Own when I get a chance and catching up with the gardening tv - I suppose they must finish soon for winter. Hope everyone has a grand weekend.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Did your Mother tell you to rub the sleep out of your eyes? Never sure what she meant but I thought it was the crusty bits on my eyelashes I'm worried now - what were the "crusty bits" and was I the only child to have them?

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Carrie and I hope you have a luvly day. Gone are the days when I could drink a bottle of wine - just 2 glasses gives me a headache now. Where's that "you know when you're getting old" thread?

Enjoy your Saturday everyone. I think I've lost the plot already!

                • Murky here. Girding my loins to go and do the shopping - didn't have time yesterday! Son's comedy night was great - three excellent acts and a very funny and somewhat surreal compere.

Got to pay my allotment rent tomorrow. We are now self managed so will be paying it to ourselves. Hurrah!

                    • Morning all have googled 'crusty bits on VC's eyelids' and it has come up with the following:

Waking up with crusty eyelids is often because of a condition known as:

                      blepharitis.

Only VC would admit to having such a condition
