Sorry to hear about your little "puppy" Jay. Its always a worry when they're unwell.
    Good news about Hibou though.
My two have been colour-matched with the newly painted kitchen walls. Apricot white shows up well on their dark fur They looked so innocent too. "What us, we haven't been anywhere near the wet paint, honest!"
Glad to see the sunshine again. Hope its shiny where you are

      • Good afternoon,

I am just in the middle of cleaning the flat. Just having some dinner before I carry on. I've not even opened the curtains today, so not sure what it is like outside. I need to catch up on my GYO mags, I am about 3 months behind

Nicos I do hope thats not your OH you are refering too

What I did come on for was to suggest that you try some honey on Hibou`s eye, but if it is now responding to treatment perhaps not

          • Afternoon all. Been a great day - lovely and sunny.

Had a pleasant walk down town and picked up a couple of very nice looking gardening books from the local charity shop for a few pounds so will enjoy dipping into those tonight. One looks very good, The Heligan Vegetable Bible, and looks to be stuffed with info on heritage varieties - even had the turnips I grew in there this year, Manchester Market. The other Grow Your Own Kitchen Garden Year looks more of a coffee table book for browsing but hopefully will make good winter reading anyway.

Had a lazy day with cooking as we picked up a pizza to eat - cook free days are so welcome
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

            • Good evening fellow grapes.
Hope your all well, its cold dark and chilly here so snuggling up and watching the TV, so tired after the long drive back. Nearly lit the fire but can't be bothered so under the covers
Exciting walking around the plot to see what a difference in growth 5 days make. I swear the PSB has almost doubled in size. Good i was very late putting it in.

My favourite film out of the !!4!! we watched had to be Everest, it is a must watch, very emotional but very well done.

Off to cook dinner soon halloumi cheese salad with some tomatoes from my winter crop.
Will have a good noisy around the vine first though
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

              • I am so shattered tonight. I've come standing in the kitchen so I don't fall asleep on the couch. I really do need to make tea but really cannot be bothered. Anyone fancy cooking for me? I will reward in wine

                  Evenin all!
Managed to do nothing in the kitchen today...bought a second hand marquee and an 11 foot pew and went to collect them.
Lots of my Xmas decorations now priced up ready for the Fairs...so I'm really chuffed I'm up to date with that.( always difficult to cost up things isn't it?)

                        • Evening all. Bit cold here now. Hope your poorly doggy feels better soon Jay. My sister has her dog Amy at the vets again tomorrow. So hopefully it will be good news for both of you.
Glad to hear Hibou is feeling better Nicos.
Kids are at my mom and dads but will still need to be up early tomorrow to take OH to work. Going to pick up a load of rabbit muck tomorrow to chuck in my newly built compost bins. So going to get that covered up and hopefully this time next year I will have some decent manure to put back on the plot.
                          Have a good evening everyone

                          • Next is a retaining wall, then grading the soil, I will leave it over-winter to settle & then seed in the spring as a bee & butterfly friendly wild flower meadow, with both Autumn & Spring flowerings

                            • Good evening folks, and Jay I hope everything ok tomorrow, and that your son is in good health for Thursday. It`s been cold here today, and now early dark, which I dont realy mind, as when I look out into the garden it looks tidy. Had a long lie this morning half eight before I moved, and never kicked all night,(what is it they say a clear conscience you can sleep easy) and for those who cant sleep there was something on radio Scotland last Thursday about the best temperature to maintain in the bedroom is 18.5c for a good nights sleep, I will try that when I get older. Four rolls of paper on the walls now only six more to go I must try and get it finished before next spring.
Well I wish you all a good night, and all who get up early shush I trying to sleep past 8.30 Goodnight

Can't tell you what the weather is doing this morning, it's to dark out there.
Going to attempt to finish what I started yesterday, if the rain holds off.
                                Have a good day
