  • Evening all. Had a busy day down the allotment. Dug all my spuds up now found loads of slugs munching away on them.
My mom and dad came down and had a good look round and my mom gave her usual 'helpful' advice. Then my dad helped my dig some of the spuds up. Think it tired him out a bit.
    Have a good evening everyone

      • Sun came out about midday and was quite warm, 17c, liffted some potatoes and broad beans, about the only crops I had this year, cut the grass, and sat down to relax, when was asked what I was doing so told SHMBO. I was just relaxing answer back was well would you like to come up and help me get this off, so ever the gentleman, rushed upstairs to assist and finished up stripping wallpaper off.
So will have to go and pick wallpaper shortly.

        • Hello All, just a quick visit to check on you all Loving this time off already. Outdoors again all day today. I have strings of red onions and strings of garlic too, very pleased. I have another load of garlic whose stems are too hard to string - not sure whether they will soften - any experience? Bras are now at the mercy of the snugs. See you tomorrow (perhaps)

            • Evening all

Weather has been a bit mixed today but when you are dragged around furniture shops it doesn't really matter. All pointless though as the OH didn't like anything.

Hope you have all had good days

You could have a practice and be the main entertainment in the Rest at Christmas! I'm sure BM, BB, Potty and SDG will shake maracca's as accompaniment for you.

Can you tell that my 'chugger' put the wind up me when he asked for proof of the 3 gogs I told him about.

                    • Morning all - just donned my lycra in preparation for torture (ie aerobics). Spent over an hour at the plot yesterday evening faffing about with guttering fixings for my 'new' waterbutt. It is a matter of honour at the site that we try to buy nothing new - all should be recycled. It is an admirable aim. However, it means that messing about with the guttering bits is like doing really fiddly Lego, only with swearing! My vocabulary of profanity was far too limited for the job and I found myself devising new terms. Necessity truly is the mother of invention. Anyway, it's done now. All I need now is some rain for a proper test - chucking a bit of water on the roof doesn't really give it a truly rigorous trial.

                      Have a good day all.

                      • Rary was it a long recovery. My mums had her second knee done 8 weeks ago. She's still hobbling and it's twice the size of the other one. she always stays at my house for a week in the summer but hasn't been able to make it so far.

Morning all! I'm being lazy this morning, just toast for breakfast this morning but I'm on my second cup of coffee and I've no intention of moving yet.

                        • What...no sardines Scarlet!!!

Morning all, wet and windy here but not cold which is good. Catching up with housework today and will try to get a chance between the showers to feed my toms and runners.

rary, in laws have a place in Ayrshire which we have gone to for over thirty years now. Kids were more or less brought up on good Ayrshire air as we visited every weekend. We are thinking of retiring there when the time comes!

                            • Quick question folks. In the produce 'competition' on the Vine, does 'the truss of tomatoes' have to be ripe?
                              Mine could be a while

                              • Take a photo now Sally but don't upload it yet in case you get a ripe truss before the comp entries have to be in by. Well that's what I'd do
