  • I am coming off here now and going getting in bed and read the new GYO mag that I got the other day.

The things I was meant to be doing has turned into I aint doing them tonight. Burnt my spuds so tea was rubbish. So best thing to do is go and relax in bed.

    Night

    • Beautiful day here today. Spent it playing 2 tounds of pitch and putt in the club.
Home and watched the all Ireland semi final of which Dublin won.
All in all a very good day.

      • Good evening to you all it has been a lovely day here, which started early for me as grandchildren were having a sleep over, checked they were ok at 5am. tried to get back to sleep, was still trying when they woke up at 6.45 so had to get up (felt like middle of night) when parents finaly came for them I took my wife out so she could buy me lunch, when we came home had a look at the grass but decided there were other more important thing to do, so decided to inspect the inside of eye lids for half an hour, then pulled some veg. for one of the few salads we have managed to have this year, used young chard and beetroot leaves along with tunip, radish and my first shirley tomatoes along with my one and only courgette, so I wish you all a very good night
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Morning
The weather could go either way today. It's looking hopeful at the moment.
Going to spend the next hour prepping, blanching and freezing carrots. Then I'm going to have another go at getting the other half to help me. I'm not holding my breath

Off to a vide Grenier soon ( car boot) to look for some lampshades.
I need 3 the same but only managed to get 2 of one shape, 2 of a very similar shape and 1 of a thinner quality.....so off the try and find some more. Any spare I will sell on , so they need to be a reasonable price so I can at least get my money back!

                • Morning all. Looks like it is going to be a lovely day. My toilet is in ...yay! I have invited the neighbours round for an inaugural 'pee' when I am back from Florence, so that will be sometime next week (ie w/c 14th). I did not manage to tidy the garage yesterday as I did not expect that I would have to be the runner to Screwf*x to get bits for the plumber. On the plus side I now know what a compression elbow joint is , you never know when knowledge like that may come in useful.

Off to the plot shortly to water the glass shed there before my day out in sunny Redditch. Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Nicos, good to see that the French start their car boot sales as ludicrously early as we do in UK! Good luck with your cherche.

                            • Absolute cracker of a morning. Started off dull but now the sun's out in full force and the polytunnel is lovely and warm to sit and have a cuppa in.

The spring onions I'd given up on germinating are now showing the tiniest bit of growth - there's hope yet on that. Of course that all happens after I made a second sowing yesterday!

Would love to do some gardening but family meal to go to instead. Just hope the weather's bonny tomorrow as well.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                              • Morning all. Still waiting for the sun to show here, although it's a lot milder. The temperature in the greenhouse went down to 6.5c last night but it's back up to 20c despite the absence of sun.

I've been feeling a bit down with the chemotherapy lately but should get down to the allotment this afternoon to at least do a bit of picking.

                                Have a good day all!
