  • P.S. Enjoy your trip to Florence @SusieQ100. I'm sure you will be just fine and I'm sure it will be fabulous. It's meant to be lovely there so our next door neighbours tell us since they go just about every year.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

        • Morning All. Its sortta sunshiny - must make a plan of what to do today. That should take a few cups of coffee, by which time I'll have wasted the morning.
Susie - Florence is so beautiful, you'll love it. If you promise not to tell anyone, I'll share a little secret with you - something I've never told anyone before. In Florence, many years ago, after far too many glasses of Chianti, I said Yes to marriage. Look out for the Bronze Pig and give his nose a little rub for me - I'm sure he brought me luck and will do the same for you
For anyone not going to Florence, have a virtual rub of the Piggy's nose
          and a luvly day

              ooo...look at this!

I went there with my OH many moons ago- it was almost the first time we'd had a quick break without the children ( they were 4 and 2 ).
One of the things which stood out for me was that at lunch time there were a lot of single women - of all ages - eating on their own. Clearly enjoying the company from afar...and the food!
Don't feel self conscious if you do- it seems to be the norm!

have a brill time- and come back with a nice tan!

Just a quick visit on here tonight. OH is making mushroom risotto and I can't seem to put the loom knitting down.

Difficult one. On the one hand you could buy a lot of new seeds as VeggieChicken said

On the other hand, 3 days can seem like an eternity if it's not something you want to be doing.

Money v Your Free Time. Which is more important?

Glad to hear the loom knitting has got you hooked, Carrie Sounds like fun. And mushroom risotto is a dish worth waiting for. Yum. Even better you don't have to cook it!

                          • Good evening folks, just spent some time catching up with previous posts, Martin, your in my thoughts and prayers, and I like your positive attitude.
I started to make one of me raised beds higher today but as I was going through this thread I was also planning what I would do tomorrow or when I can get back to it, and have now decided to empty the bed completly and cover the ground with a thick sheet of weed suppressant fabric down to try and keep out tree roots, I will have try and do it without OH seeing it or I will never hear the end of it especialy if I say anything about sore legs, if I wait till she starts that thing called housework (whit ever that is) it should be ok. will let you know how I get on .
now wishing you all a good night Im away to read a book
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

A little foggy this morning but the forecasters promise a glouriously sunny day, lets hope they are right. Off to the plot this morning to harvest some bits and pieces then taking the OH out to lunch.

                              Have a great Thursday all
