Back from school residential. Great fun but exhausting being on call to 59 10 year olds 24 hours a day. Weather was awful yesterday, had to stop rock climbing when the Lightning started!
Now it's back to domestic duties including huge piles of washing, load three in now.
We are growing in our garden Nicos, so it's easy to nip out and do these jobs.
Anyone got any advice on my remaining two potato bags, they are main crop. Do I need to harvest these before the frost comes or are they ok where they are?
Would appreciate some advice. We are still eating our last 19lb haul
Nannysally: They will be fine where they are in the bags for the time being. Any frosts are not going to be too hard and they will be insulated by the surrounding clay.
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
Morning all. First job for me is unpacking and sorting out the laundry. Guess i wont need ant summer clothes until next holiday. Off to pick my plums and sort out the greenhouse and garden.
After that k will see if there is any energy left to do any other jobs.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
Welcome back MoM Thought you'd done a runner on us Glad you enjoyed your holiday and all is well in the garden.
I've spent the morning with a doors and windows man. He came to give me a quote for a replacement porch door and ended up showing me photos of the bruises on his bottom after falling off his horse. Talk about Tangentisation!
Sun's still shining and I'm orf to play in the garden. See you later!
Afternoon all - VC - Committee meeting tonight - Agenda has 11 items and item (3) has 6 separate 1tems and the 3rd of these items has 2 pages - can I borrow your pointy stick again?

Hello Nicos. I have been told today that the builders are starting on Monday 7 am. I have the whole of my downstairs to clear and I thought I had 3 weeks. Tomorrow I've promised to take a friend shopping, her OH has just got a job and it will be the first "big shop" for years, and on Saturday I'm going to a school reunion. The things I have to move have to go into the shed and there is no lighting to do it in the evening. My children have said anything that isn't cleared before they start will go in the skip. And they are checking on Saturday. And what do I do with my dogs. Hollie's OK but Prince likes playing on roundabouts (the vehicular kind). .........Panic!

Evening all. Been very busy today putting stuff on E-bay and going down to allotments sorting stuff out.
Before you know it its time to go and pick the kids up.
Raining here at the moment but hopefully it will of cleared up by morning
Have a good evening everyone
Just watched Beechgrove Garden which this week did a feature on our allotment site including an interview with me in my plot. They showed a few pics of my plot in addition to the interview part. All in all I'm a pretty happy bunny. I have had to apologise to one of my friends though. Jim McCall referred to me as this year National Pea growing champion. I was at the time the filming was done but I was beaten into second place at the NVS National Championships at Dundee at the start of the month.

Not to worry - you'll win it next year

Of course you can borrow it Shen. Would you like the coffee mug too?
Good idea - I used it to catch the blood The meeting lasted for over two hours and we only got through a fraction of the Agenda but at least we covered the bits where the pointy stick was needed.
