Well at least you have seen my hand sweetheart .

The description of the Show perfection pea understates it a wee bit. It doesn't have up to 11 peas per pod. That is probably the minimum in a winning set. 12's are really good but 13's and 14's are not uncommon. Last year in Dorchester in my glory year, I was giving away my reject peas for folks to eat afterwards and they were mostly 12's. One exhibitor half inched the pods I gave to his wife to eat to save them for seed

            • Good night all, off to bed.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Good Morning All

The sun is trying desperately hard to poke through the clouds but not quite strong enough yet. Hoping to get the OH,'s permission to go to the plot but got a sneaking suspicion shopping is on the cards

                      Have a great day all

                      • Anyone else noticing the sudden increase in fallen leaves?
Must think about collecting more this year!
Free compost...does life get better than that!

                        • Morning all, chilly here and a bit misty but I'm told by the trusted TV weather people that the sun is on it's way. Hope you enjoy the shopping GL! . Guess what my OH will be doing today too...but only because his lawn mower packed in yesterday so I'm going to use the situation to my advantage.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Meant to ask Nicos, how long does it normally takes for leaves to break down...I bagged up a load last autumn but they haven't done much over the year.

                          • Morning all

Sunny Saturday here so it's off to do some more re-arrainging in the front garden for me

                            • Morning everyone, great morning today! The perfect day to potter in the garden.

Yesterday I noticed one of the roses (Cleopatra no less) had black spot so I chopped all the affected parts off. Hope it bounces back from that. It's got two blooming good roses on right now and a fair few buds.

Moved my turnips and swede into a sunnier spot in the garden now we're getting a lot more shade - don't think hubby was too impressed as in the middle of his nicely mown lawn :O He loathes root veg as well- even more reason to dislike it now I guess!
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                              • Morning all - bit of a lie in this morning - unintentionally, but never mind. It's lovely too so time to get a leg in a pant and get on with it! Lawns to mow, chutney and cheesecake to make, greenhouse to be partially cleared, garage to be tidied (well to be looked at and then decide to tidy it on Monday or Tuesday Have a lovely day whatever you decide to do or not do. Enjoy it. Life is too short not to!
