  • Have a look at 'Top Tips' - there's a good sale on at Mr Fothergill's but the man who took my order said they are running out of stock fast.

Me and my boys had sardines on toast this morning it's the only time they manage to talk to me. Cereals take 2 seconds to eat and then their gone. I wish now I'd persevered and had a girl as well, I think they are more company. Mind you Stan is starting to talk , he doesn't bark much, but I'm looking after my brothers spaniel and she barks at the slightest sound. Stan is practising.

Scanned this rather than reading 'properly' and thought you were talking about your sons. Realised once you mentioned barking! That'll teach me.

My boys are probably older than yours but I get more conversation out of them than my daughter who is always too busy. My sons have children too but they still find time for me. Um. Having thought about that, they probably do have more time as the mothers of their children are looking after them. It's a man thing.

VC you only have to worry if you think you've seen them wave back at you. it was too cloudy last night here so I'll try again tonight.

                      • Whilst singing the theme tune to the childrens programme 'Button Moon' - I wonder why?

I, being short with bad eyesight spotted something far more terrestrial - the conker trees around the village field seem to be changing colour. The leaves are no longer the lush green with damaged brown bits but more yellowy greenish - e.g start of autumn colour.

Is this just me with my 'we are all doomed because of an ice age winter' theory or has anybody else spotted changes?

                        • That's a leaf miner problem Lumpy lots of conker trees are getting it. The leaves need to be picked up when they drop, bagged or burnt, taken to the recycle centre etc to lessen the damage for next year.

Morning all, I'm doing a little cake today - well the decorations anyway. Having fun, kids have some others over got a sleepover do I'll also be cooking bacon and sausages in a bit!

                            • This Freeby offer amused me!

Hi we have a large garden shrub to go. It is approx 6'x3'.
We do not know what it is, it came from our daughters garden (the wife wanted it but has changed her mind!!!). Sorry no photo's but if you want to have a look at it you are more than welcome.
It does flower so I am told but have no idea of the colours

                              Difficult to resist - eh?

If it was nearer I'd be tempted to look at it - just to try and identify it for them.

                              • Well, that was a fruitful free morning! I was going to do some cakes, watered the toms and done some clearing up, looked at my clock when I got back in (never wear a watch!) and it was 12.05! Just made sausage baguettes for the boys, sausage, eggs and toms for the OH and I had bread and toms, lettuce and cue from the garden. all good - now I have to clear up as everyone has vanished! Typical that!
