On a lighter note, I came down earlyish this morning to load the washing machine. My feet felt a bit funny so I looked down to see that in my sleepy state I had put on one slipper and one flip flop! Not as bad as my neighbour who went to town on the bus only to find when she got there, that she was still wearing her slippers. She headed for the nearest shoe shop.

When I worked, I always kept spare shoes with high heels under the desk, in case I had to go somewhere and look tall(er). Had to go to a meeting in a hurry so shoved my feet into a pair of shoes and shot off to the meeting. Shame it wasn't a matching pair of shoes - one was navy and the other grey. At least the heels were the same height

Just come back from a friend's house.

We had an emergency phone call from her half way through our supper.
Her bathroom pipe had burst and flooded the kitchen and taken down the ceiling whilst she was out.
Her wooden floor was already starting to warp
Just spent 3 hrs mopping up , sweeping and wiping, and taking piccies for her insurance company.
She lives alone and is disabled, so it was good to be able to help her.

I really could have done with a very quiet evening in today after my hectic day, but needs must!

I've been up for about half an hour. Fed and watered the dogs. Sitting here with a cuppa tea. Then off to collect my son from Wales. I thought we had a week to sort his life out but he's landed a good job starting tomorrow!

Oh gosh....* rushes off to give my 5 bottles another shake!
( I'd forgotten about them!)

BB...you know if you keep checking on it there'll be none left?

I'm off to Wales to tomorrow! Paul is cycling in Usk. I think it's just a 10mile but then I'm off to visit my Mum. Son1 is watching the rugby in Cardiff tomorrow too, much better than all this whimpy cricket

We used to enjoy listening to the rugby in Cardiff!
Go and mill around the crowd pre match to see if there were any spare tickets...have a couple of pints, walk home , put on the TV and watch the match with the windows open so we could hear the crowd...then nip back to the pub and get a good seat before the crowds poured in...utterly brill!
And yes, that's before the local pubs had TVs.
