  • Morning all. Been to Aldi this morning and bought a couple of summer raspberries and a green gooseberry.
Not planting them down allotment yet just going to pot them on until I figure out where they can go.
Going to allotment after we have dropped OH off at work. Meeting my mom and dad down there and having a picnic down there. Think I will be given the 'I am not weeding properly' talk or 'your granddad never did that' talk. I usually get it.
Anyway have a good day everyone

That's where I was today. Just pray that the tw@t I got today doesn't pull out in front of him. Bit rude of me to say this but he looked ancient, pulled out without looking and proceeded to drive at 25mph in front of me.

It's a very beautiful part of the world but the rural lanes are a nightmare to drive down. After the 25mph bloke I was stuck behind an oil tanker(wall to wall vehicle) who was polite enough to pull in and let me pass as soon as he could. On the way back we were stuck behind the bin lorry and I think we all know that they don't do that even if it wouldn't slow them up.

          • Morning all - beautiful day here - grandsons are coming round to cut the grass and clean out the garage - then up to the allotment to get some potatoes and the 3rd lot of blackcurrants - last year I got none of these - suspect the birds or the squirrels? so netted them earlier this year and the supply has been truly great

              • Morning all! I've already been up 'n' at 'em having belted round Walsall Arborteum Parkrun. Not my best time ever, but a vast improvement on the same course a couple of months ago.

Now home for baking a fruit cake for next week's Hill Annual Show , housework and maybe a couple of hours planting out brassicas at the Hill when it cools down later on.

                Have a good day folks!

I have got the windows 10 Lottie. I quite like it. It's gone back to how it use to be when you pressed the start menu. And all your apps are all in one place so no need to keep swooping screens.

                            • I've missed you lot as well VC but needs must and I have been very busy for a long time but now everything seems to be getting in order - it took a 7 months to sort out a 4 years backlog of Reports (Annual Accounts & Annual Reports) that had never been properly dealt with by the previous lot and only after that was there time to comply with the programme agreed at the 2014 AGM. Then my daughter moved plots to be next to me and the plot was in a bit of a mess so only now at harvest time am I getting time to look up old friends :-) Grandkids cut the grass Andrew the front Euan the back and Calum cleared out the garage - after two full carloads to the dump followed by some harvesting at the allotment with Andrew everything left is now back in place and I will pop down to the supermarket and put the lotto on, have some dinner and sit back and watch the Chelsea match with a well earned pint or two :-)

                              • OK, Shen, you're excused. Don't you go AWOL again - promise?
I've been in the middle of the brambles this afternoon. Nasty vicious things. Can't even reach the blackberries as they were growing up into the trees.
Time for a coffee and a think about food. Did someone mention cake, Hazel?
