Win10 is very like Win 7 and much better than Win 8.1.
Don't be afraid - its easy to get used to.

Ooh heck, I don't know whether to do this (David Bowie springs to mind). I have W8 at home on PC and laptop, but W7 at work. Not sure which I prefer, but if W10 is like 7, I might wait until I'm back at work to judge. I really should be considering WW after this leave

      • Thankyou fellow grapes, you've actually continued a very pleasant afternoon. I promised to take a friend to a very important interview to our next town (no bus service) and had lent my car to my son. So his girlfriend took us. I took us for lunch afterwards. I have this friend who was basically dumped in our town 7 years ago 20 miles away from his family and friends. We were having a quiet drink when he turned up.

This is a long story but bare with me. He was in a serious traffic accident and in a coma for several months. When he came to he had brain damage. The day I met him he was trying to order a pint in my local but he couldn't speak and he got worse as the other customers took the mickey out of him. I just asked if he wanted a drink and he nodded. I said we'll go through the taps 'til we get to the right one. We got there. He also couldn't write.

We are now 6 years on from when I first met him. He still has a speech impediment and the police still arrest him under the suspicion of drug taking because of it, but he has some fantastic stories to tell. His brother turned up today to "rescue" him. While he was in the loo my friend said he didn't want to go and was happy where he was. He hadn't realised until today how many friends he has accumulated in this town. He's staying, and as a result of today he now has several more telephone numbers to call the next time the plod come calling.

I have to say this is not a rant against our police force who do a good job, but we have a regular 6 month turnover of staff so we have no continuance of personnel. Each new police officer see my friend with his cap, beard and pony tail and make assumptions.

I petrified of flying - flight is at 7.30pm - what time should I start drinking ?
