Morning all, hope whoever said got a hangover feels better soon.
Just had a lovely fried egg in fresh crusty roll breakfast. Yummy
Picked a bowl of tomatoes, another potato box to be done later and bean picking. Expect photos.
We have a 93 year old volunteer in the shop and always pick her something just before work. It's nice for it to be appreciated.
Have a lovely day all
Morning all, just had a lovely fryup and a quick read of the paper. Off to get ready for mass now and who knows what the rest of the day will bring.
Enjoy all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
..........and its Good afternoon from me too
LottieD, I've just downloaded Windows10Pro to my old laptop. I meant to time how long it took but went out into the garden and forgot Its only 2 hours since it started - so probably about an hour and a half as the others have said.
Not sunshiny here but brightcloudy if you know what I mean.
Just had an email from the Dordogne where the smallest of Bessie's puppies (Baby - now Cia) is holidaying for 5 weeks I daren't tell Bess or she'll want to go too.
Have a great day everyone, whatever you're up to!!
Afternoon everyone. Good luck with the shows Hazel and Shen
Well its been a sad day in our household. I was just making the first cuppa of the day when Will came in to tell me their fish called Fishy was swimming funny. Well floating about really. Yep Fishy the Fish is no more. So after we had the talk of how well they had looked after Fishy and he was really pleased to be looked after them, they seemed ok. Then I had to go through the list of what they couldn't have next as a pet. So no to a pony, a cat, a dog, a tortoise, a bird of prey, a puppy( to Will a puppy is different to a dog, but still got told no), another fish, a gerbil, a rabbit and a parrot. I sound like my mom on the pet front its frightening.
Anyway been to my mom and dads. We are all meeting at the allotment tomorrow to do some digging.
Have a good afternoon everyone
Good afternoon peeps..Its turned out a gorgeous afternoon here..Just finished cutting the grass and tidied the borders..Enjoy the rest of your day peeps.
Long day today but two lots of entries plus 2 trugs are now sorted - I'll leave you to your thoughts on which of the 2 has the best of everything from the 2 plots - answers please on a postcard to either:
The person whose veg won 26 places last year and so was adjudged to have the Best Plot on the site.
The person who won 1x 1st with Best Dahlia.
Hmm - I have just found out how poor a judge I am as to what constitutes the best veg - last night I was 100% certain that my daughter had all the best veg both individually and in her trug which I felt had been very skilfully put together whereas mine was thrown together with a mental note to adjust it before staging for the show. This was never done and it was left exactly as it was.
You will be as dumbfounded as I was to learn that I got a first for the 3 white onions whereas she got a 2nd and I got a 1st for my Trug which also won Best in Show whereas she got 2nd. She did reverse the place for the heaviest onion so at least I did get that right
We did get a variety of other places but the aforegoing made the most impression - needless to say I am now in the doghouse but at least both grandsons have a Rosette to take to school as my daughter got Best in Show for The Flower section as she got Best plant pot whereas I got 2nd so I judged that correctly as well.
I hasten to add that the £20 I gave the main judge did not influence the results in any way.
I've been a busy bee, I've a friend to stay! She talks non stop (well me too ) we spent yesterday walking Stan, popping into coffee shops and just generally catching up. Today we've done much the same though my OH joined us in the afternoon. He was supposed to look after Stan as we had a little nosy in the craft shops - not too well I might add! While in one particulary crammed shop, "think breakages" I felt a tail whack my leg and realised OH was too engrossed in his phone and chess than looking after my dog off to the pub tonight for tea and a fizz
Evenin' all. Hope everything went as planned today for everyone!
After a quick trip to the garden centre for compost, sowed some onion seed, lettuce, carrot, spring cabbage- all in large bags that I can move into GH later ..
So, no time left to cook Sunday lunch/dinner.. It'll be a quick throw together of something later!
