Good evening peeps..Hope everyone is having a good day so far...Its been pouring it down here all day..I am on cooking duty tonite..Chicken stir fry Yummy...Enjoy the rest of your day folks
First chance I've had to be on here today. Very, very stressful. For some reason my laptop and printer have decided not to talk to each other, the Internet or my IPad. As I help my son run an Internet business, this makes life difficult. My other son's business is resolving IT problems but he turned up without warning when I was out. I've spent some time in our local library printing out labels.
This isn't a rant, just a comment on how dependent I have become on the availability of the Internet.

Just got back from the lotty and had to light the fire. The highest temperature in the polytunnels and greenhouse was a meagre 13 degrees today.
Have I missed a month, or is it really still August?
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.
Been a glouriously warm day in Torbay, although rain is forecast tomorrow. Totally confused Janie if your son is an IT wiz and the other runs an internet business surely the first son has built in redundancy so theses problems dont occur
Started to rain here about half 3. I am so glad to be home and in my PJ's lol. If I could I would go out to work in them ha!
I got an email from the hospital(the job that I got) asking me to fill out a pre employment application. I am still waiting for them to phone me on an induction date. It's been 13 working days already and got told they will tell me in 7 to 14 working days. Maybe I am to impatient.
Productive day here. Got the windows cleaned- inside and out. Can't remember the last time they were done. Made it lighter indoors on a gloomy day. Then this afternoon No1 son and I donned our wellies (frog protection ) and cleared out our very overgrown pond. Wish I'd done before and after photos. We were ably supervised by Evie and Percy, who are of course, pond experts.
Spent an hour or so at the allotment putting in 5 lavender plants I got in Morrisons - at £2 a time I couldn't resist and as my plot is on Lavender Lane I thought some additions to those I already have would be a good idea - however, I think I need another 3

He didn't set it up, I did. I have a degree in IT and business studies. But, I can't get my head round Windows 8.1. I hate it with a vengeance. It's a horrible, unusable load of s??t.
I have run the problem down to one of their "automatic" updates that are run in the background. But I don't know how to undo whatever they did to stop the Internet from working. I've probably made the situation worse. I was actually using the laptop when the Internet suddenly stopped working about a week ago. I only have the IPad and that has stopped working with the printer as well.

My laptop wouldn't talk to my printer even though it had been for years. Turned out it was the renewed Norton firewall. Turned off the firewall for a couple of seconds and turned it on again and all is working again! Only took me about 3 months to figure it out!!

I know nothing about computers but can you use System Restore to go back to a date prior to the updates. Just a thought!
Evening everyone. Its been a good day, although I haven't a clue what I've been doing. I know puppies, beans and kale were involved...........hang on, its coming back. I sowed 64 DFBs and planted 60 motheaten kale plants! Wonder how many will make it through to 2016.
As for the puppies, have you tried playing fetch with 3 dogs, only one of which knows what to do. Seeing 3 dogs carrying the same bit of rope and playing tug-of-war is quite entertaining (time wasting )

Hope you've all had a good day
That probably won't work veggie because it's a problem native to the windows 8.1 interface, a system restore would just reset windows and the firmware updates would just update automatically and the same problem would persist. Resets are goo for virus/malware porlbems sometimes, and ghosts in the machine. Handy, has saved me a couple of times. Windows 8.1 is ****, and no matter how much glitter is sprinkled on it, a **** is sill a ****...that's why its free. I run 7, but IMO XP was the best by far. Vista was atrocious also.
Note: I have never sprinkled a **** with glitter. The only people who think I've done that are those I've cooked for.

Yes I know I am awake very early. I've been awake quite a bit. I woke up with a blocked nose so was finding it hard to breath and then I have a pain in my right knee. I had to get up and come lie on the couch so I didn't wake my OH up. I will have a little nap later this morning when I come home on my break.
Right I am putting the kettle on, anyone want a drink?
Cariann, I thought 6.15 was early enough. I wasn't really ready to get up but the dogs (or one of them) thought differently. Heyho.

Good morning Carrie, and everyone! Would've joined you with a cuppa! Remnants of tonsillitis- constant ringing in the ears! Unfortunately it doesn't cancel out the noise of DH snoring .....
Anyway, just got back from the dog walk around the field and wowsers, what a pong - they've been spreading something on the field that no animal would produce!! Certainly helped unblock my nose!!!
Have a good day!
