Morning all - albeit a belated one. The sun has just broken through here. Lots of lovely rain again yesterday afternoon, so that will be good for the allotment. I am trying to motivate myself to get dressed and go and make the next batch of piccalilli. Elder son found a recipe for courgette, cheese and bacon muffins (odd isn't it? When you mention a glut of something, people suddenly find you nice things you can cook for them). I might try that, depends how I feel. Ought to clear stuff out and take to the tip. I certainly have enough for at least 1 trip, probably two.
Today at Chez Beardy we are having a "Sunday roast" ........... because that's how we are at Upper- Woodenhill
Confused? Comes with age, BB..................so they tell me
Morning All. Dark and damp here and some really bad news to share A mouse or summat has dug up some of the DFB seeds in the GH Why didn't it go for the cabbage seedlings - I have lots of those!
I'm trying to reply to BB with quote but it's cutting half of it off. I could just type it all out again but I can't be ar$ed.
My eldest son came over and got the Internet back. Half an hour after he left it vanished again but I took his advice and uninstalled Kaspersky. It was "protecting" me from automatic updates.
I'm now using Webroot.

Evening all.
Went out and about with the kids and OH today and ended up in Pershore. Went around the charity shops and the kids found a few interesting books. I found a Grow your Own Veg by Carol Klein.
Then had a picnic by the river, kids got mobbed by a load of duck which was quite funny, and then came home. Even got home before it rained again.
Have a good evening everyone
Took the GG to Bognor for the day. Flippin weather forecast! Was home way before tea time.
Forecast of sun/cloud and 70 turned into cloud/rain.
Never mind, we had a picnic on the front, went in the arcades - twice - had an ice cream and bought 2 sticks of rock.
Alls well that ends well
Results were pretty good. Boys had a few A's each (both had Maths) several B's including English and a language and two C's each. No1 not so chuffed, No2 over the moon.
Did them a slap up tea, their choice, roast chicken and baked spuds. Cut open the chicken and it was green I only picked it up this afternoon! I went straight back to Waitrose with the hot chicken in a plastic bag and spoke to the manager. He refunded the cost of the chicken, plus the same amount again as a gift. Gave me a lovely bottle of white wine - my choice and £10 worth of meat...it stunk out the shop!
Well done Scarlet's boys and my granddaughter who also did really well with all her results C and above. Although she got a couple of A*s she was more pleased with the C in Maths, because she was afraid she would fail!
On a more sombre note my daughter has had a heart attack, but she is out of danger and on the Coronary Care Unit at the hospital where I work. I hope you don't all mind me sharing this news - it's been a bit of a shock and I can't quite believe it myself
Lifted the all the spring planted onions this afternoon - my neighbour had onion fly and I reckon about 1/4 of mine were the same - think I'll stick to overwinter ones in future - I had no problems with them I'll need to avoid all these beds from now on just in case
Got another 2 lavender plants from Morrisons

Oh Florence so sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she is feeling better. I hope you are ok as well. I know when my dad had his it was a shock. I was there when it had it and it was very upsetting. So I hope you get plenty of rest as it takes a lot out of you as well with stress and upset.
Thinking of you.

OH Florence, i am so sorry to hear about your daughter. You must have got an awful shock. I do hope she's on the mend.

And your hands begin to harden.
