    • Ooh! All looks delicious Trip

I'm already on my third glass of fizz helping the other half celebrate his fastest race in a while. It wasnt a good day for it either, super windy in Wales today. Hoping for better weather for the race next Sunday, though he's looking pretty knackered now ah well, more for me

      • And finished...
Thanks VC and Scarlet... Would say the cycling was a bit of a struggle in the wind...not pleasant
Looking forward to the vino... You are a bit ahead of me Scarlet

          • Mornin all!

            Sunday!...yey!

            What's everyone up to today?
Domestic day for me, but I'm hoping to spend at least some time in the garden

We took loads of climbing purple french beans yesterday- absolutely delish!
( and yes VC, they were squeaky !)

How did the wedding go NS?

I have got two water butts, bamboo canes, slabs and my compost bins. But thinking about it might leave the compost bins ready for the next plot holder as my new one has one already and I can always make up a couple of pallet bins if needed.
My shed went the other day so its a case of tidying up and moving bit. Think the hardest job will be moving my fruit trees to home.

                • We left about 30 paving slabs when we left our lottie.
We'd got them for free but one year later I could have kicked myself for being so generous

The tree sound like quite a big job?
                  Still, it's worth it!

Our wedding yesterday went very well, more food than you can shake a stick at mind you
                      Free bar, lovely setting
Had a giant speaker next to our table, so no conversation was possible at all, loud music was played all the time. It actually was unbearable in the end
That bit should be on the rant thread lol
Spoke to the groom more than we ever had, so that was good
                      Recovering slowly .......
                      Have a great day all

                        Morning all..

                        Nvg

The potato onion (also known as multiplier onion) is a variety of the Aggregatum Group of Allium cepa, similar to the shallot, although producing larger bulbs... It was very popular in the past, but shallots seem more popular now...Still grown a lot in Ireland..

                          • My internet is down again so after going out to lunch with my son and his girlfriend, I'm ensconced in a local hostelry with a glass of wine and their wifi.

                              Hi Nicos..

Sorry for delayed reply but I went for a spin on the bike, and ended up doing 82km..

I have been growing mine from saved bulbs for a number of years now, so they are sort of naturalised now!

I don't find them to be anywhere near as sweet as shallots, but that's my produce and also my opinion..
I find they work really well in home made relishes and are also beautiful when slow roasted with a joint of meat
