  • At site meeting the builders are threatening to start next week eek!

Much as I'd love another Aga, VC, I'm probably going to go for a Classic Rangemaster. The argument is because son thinks I ought to have a "modern" kitchen with built in oven and a separate hob. I want the kitchen to be in character with the rest of the house which is 230 years old with beams etc. I appreciate his reasoning as he's thinking of convenience as I get older, but when I get too old to lean over get something out of an oven I'll give up cooking.

One thing we do agree with is that I want wooden double glazed windows and door and the builders disagree. I'll leave son to sort that one out as the builders seem to think I'm nuts saying that upvc is more durable and needs no maintenance. This isn't true, it has a lifetime of around 30 years whereas my sash windows have been there for 200 years.

I rarely watch TV myself. I do like a good tv series tho. I don't watch many.

Yeah the book is good. But not got into it proper yet. There are about 5-6 more books to read yet until I am caught up with the TV series.

        • Evening all..
We had a glorious day here today...
Brother is getting married next week, so I best start thinking of a speech
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Distinct feel of autumn in the air this morning, 4.3 in the greenhouse over night, so I might spend the morning getting the bubble wrap out.

Met my new granddaughter last night and had lots of cuddles...she is beautiful like her Grandma

Lots to do over the plot but fear it will be a little wet to get much done.

                • Mornin all!
                  Nippy here too GL.
Glad you enjoyed your cuddles...I bet she did too

More demolishing and barrowing of kitchen rubbish into the trailer again today...such fun!
Frustrating thing is that the local tip is only open Fri pm, Sat and Monday ( closed for lunch of course! ) so we're accumulating rather a lot of rubble!!!!

Hoping to pot on a few plants today...looks like we had all our rain yesterday...fingers crossed.

                  • Morning all! You lot are up early! Nippy here too with an early morning mist that's slowly disappearing.
Thanks all for the book suggestions, there's a few in there that I've read but one or two of those ID never heard of so I'll give them a look.
Enjoy those cuddles GL, i love babies when you can give them back to Mum when my brothers little girl was born, in the delivery room he said OMG! She's the image of my sister she's been a stubborn, naughty bu@@er ever since! Good luck

Nicos, you've far to much energy! Good luck with the rubble. Our recycling yard has reduced their opening hours and it's been bedlam there for the last few weeks as they brought a charge for the garden waste bin into play at the same time. We've already seen fly tipping appearing
Back breaking work lifting rubble though, watch your back and wear a dust mask

You can test your speech on us Trip!

I think we're being taken more seriously now that it's our 4 th one in 2 years!

                            • Morning all

I am not in work much today. Morning and teas. Some people are getting their homes done so have to be out so they have cancelled their calls. I am going to have a sort out in my seed box and plan on what I can grow on my windowsill next year. I really do miss my garden.
                              Have a good day

                              • Morning all, I am now surrounded by more green tomatoes. Hubby just harvested them all as it was flippin cold out there, bless them
All this before eight in the morning, I'm still in my dressing gown lol
Baked a nice fruit cake last night for the volunteers at the Charity shop, my kitchen smelt lovely.
Our runner beans are no more, bar the ones left to go to seed
Just two big bags of potatoes to harvest, then that's us done until the spring
Just remembered I still have winter carrots in
                                Have a great day all
