At site meeting the builders are threatening to start next week eek!
Much as I'd love another Aga, VC, I'm probably going to go for a Classic Rangemaster. The argument is because son thinks I ought to have a "modern" kitchen with built in oven and a separate hob. I want the kitchen to be in character with the rest of the house which is 230 years old with beams etc. I appreciate his reasoning as he's thinking of convenience as I get older, but when I get too old to lean over get something out of an oven I'll give up cooking.
One thing we do agree with is that I want wooden double glazed windows and door and the builders disagree. I'll leave son to sort that one out as the builders seem to think I'm nuts saying that upvc is more durable and needs no maintenance. This isn't true, it has a lifetime of around 30 years whereas my sash windows have been there for 200 years.
