  • Morning all
Had several hours sleep. All the poultry are sorted and happy. Now I just want to go back to bed, but it's looking like fishing weather out there . And it's far to damp under foot to mow

    • Morning all Where's the sun gone! Looking a wee bit cloudy today. Daughter finally well and going back to school thank goodness so we are off to have a pleasant stroll around garden centre and hopefully buy a few plants to replace some of the brown looking summer ones. Looking forward to that and getting out in the garden.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

        It's FRIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Hoping for a quiet weekend after the busy one of last weekend...

              • Morning all, the sun has just popped it's head out! Me, I'm ready to go back to bed. Didn't get to bed until 2am as these two dogs just would not settle. Every time I closed the door on them they started barking and just would not go to bed so it was either me up or the neighbours so thought it best I stay up! Son came in at 2am from work and I crawled upstairs! Who knows when they eventually settled. Going to have a cuppa and do nothing.

Oh and guess what...the dogs are snoring, do you think I should drag them out of bed?

                • Morning all - another lovely morning now that the early mist has burned off. It's Friday! And I don't have to go to work ... the novelty of this has not yet worn off I have been making chutney labels and potting up chutney this morning. About to put the laundry out and have a tidy up. Might even do some ironing before I go out to my friend's for lunch. Then this evening off to my son's comedy night - he is a promoter rather than a performer, but he still makes me laugh (yes, they both do and I AM biased).

Talking about the Bake Off last night, he said he had hoped that Ian would be sent home. I agreed that I did find him a little self-satisfied. "Mum, he's the kind of bloke who regularly dusts his shed!"
I shan't be able to watch the Final without an image of Ian, dusting his shed.

Have a great day and a lovely weekend everyone.

                  • Good afternoon all - weather is playing funny tricks these last few days - when I left the allotment yesterday and day before the sun was shining in bright blue sky - picked up eldest grandson from school a few hundred yards away in a slight haze which became very misty and almost foglike by the time I reached the beach another couple of hundred yards further on. I picked up this pic of nearby Ayr, (with owner's permission) which was taken yesterday eerie

I'm not a massive fan of Ian but I did feel that Flora really deserved to go. Mary and Paul had been telling her for weeks to forget about all the extra "twiddly bits" she ends up doing and to focus on the actual baking task. She's ignored their advice time and time again and to ignore it on the semi final of all events was really daft. Makes good viewing though

Anyway sun's out and had a great day potting up some nice and colourful cyclamen and pansies. Garden feels cheerful again. Just hope the blooming slugs don't spoil all my efforts by chomping their way through everything. Could do with some pet hedgehogs.

                      • Has anyone noticed that the Sutt@ns ad at the top of the page has gone from offering a £5 voucher to a £10 one. Keep doubling and I might be interested!
Right must getting packing =- off to see Mum tomorrow. Theoretically she has been discharged from hospital.

Decided to not go out now. Got a banging headache that aint shifting. So going to have a take away and curl up on the couch watching a film. Going to go out for a meal during the week instead.
