  • Mornin all!
    Update on Hibou...

She's had a good night- eaten ( cautiously) and drank water on her own and has started walking more steadily.
Her eye is still very swollen and manky, and she's still having lots of involuntary head twitches .
She was normally a very clean cat - always grooming herself but she's not shown any signs of doing that yet.
Slow ,small improvements- but it's only early days yet.

    • Good Morning,
I'm back from Corfu after two glorious weeks, I've been back a week now and boy is it cold!!!
I spent a busy weekend at the lottie moving everything across to my new lottie from the old also trying to help my dad with his as he's having Chemo at the moment and It's knocking the stuffing out of him.

Glad Hibou is making improvements Nicos. We lost our cat on Friday after 18 years, very sad but she had a good innings.

      Hope everyone is ok?

            • Good to hear about Hibou, Nicos. Her mouth is probably sore, so grooming not high on her priorities. Has she peed yet? ;-)

I distinctly remember sitting up with Pippi all night, begging her to stop trying to purr, as it was making her blow bloody bubbles.... Every time she tried to clear them, you could see the sides of her lower jaw moving independently. *shudder* Our vet did a fab job of patching her up, tho. He phoned us in the middle of emergency surgery on her, speaking in a very grave voice, and I was afraid he was going to tell us she hadn't made it.... "I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to amputate one of her toes...."

              Uh. That's fine.

She had trouble with her eye, and they were talking about having to remove it. I had an evening appt at the vets where we discussed it, then he called at 8.45 the next morning, saying he'd found a source of a drug used for human eye patients, and could we go to a neighbouring town to collect it? Uh. Yes.

              Love our vet.

Anyway. Carry on. Will try and keep my Pippi reminiscing to a minimum...

              • Good morning,

I am full of a cold, sore throat and ear ache this morning. I did say to the OH last night that I had ear ache and that's usually a signed I am going to be ill. Off out later for some dinner with friends this afternoon.

Glad Hibou is on the mend Nicos

                • Morning all, thanks for the update on Hibou Nicos, glad she is making progress!

It's a nice morning here, no sun a little windy but not cold. I believe the rain has to arrive before lunch time. The leaves are being blown off the trees in the garden like snow...autumn has definitely arrived.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

No gardening this morning but a pile of iorning thats been waiting for the last two weeks due to the sunny weather.

                        • Morning all. Wet and windy here today. Just been into town and cashed in some of kids old computer games. They don't play with them anymore and they were taking up room in my cupboard.
So I got the £9.50 and had to walk past Wilkos to get back to my car. Yep you guest it I have just spent under a fiver on seeds. I knew I should of ignore VCs thread on Wilkos seed sale but I just had to click on it.
So I have stashed my new seeds in the tin I keep my flower seeds. So even if the kids have a rummage through the veg seeds they wont find them
                          Have a good day everyone

                          • Well I went to B&Q for a bag of compost and to buy a couple of bags of JI 3 which they didn't have . I then popped along to Dobbies where I got the JI 3 as well as some garlic and overwintering onions. I've gone for Senshyu yellow this year as that has performed really well for me in the past. I trialled Shakespeare last year and although they cropped well, they were all sorts in size and just didn't please my eye

                            • Morning all - wet and windy here too. I should have mowed the lawns yesterday, but I got distracted by other things. Damn!

I am child minding my grand-daughter today for the first time. She is not best pleased! She has a horrid cold which is miserable at any time, but when you are not one year old yet and can't blow your nose, even more dispiriting. She keeps waving good bye to me, which is not subtle but I do get the message!! Napping at the moment.

Hoping it will brighten up so that we can go out for a walk later.

                              Have a good day everyone.
