      • Good morning all . A very dull and grey start to the day here. Methinks the morning will be given over to boring old housework.
However, sun is forecast for later and i will be collecting grandaughter number 2 from school today so I anticipate a pleasant afternoon.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Hibou update!

Really good news ( I think!)

Her eye is a severe eye infection not responding to anitibiotics...so they are changing her drops and oitment and the doses of some of her other medications.
The bruise behind her eyeball is steadily shrinking so the steroids are clearly working...phew.

follow up in 1 week - or before if I'm not happy.

          We're getting there folks!!!!

            • Wonderful news Nico´s. Very happy for you.
It smells so bad here so so bad, new septic tank fitted.

I am also still without a car and looking like it will cost 1/2 an arm and 3/4 of a leg. Hoping the cleaning job will do it but theres only a small chance it will. Been house bound a week tomorrow.

                  • Great to hear a very positive Hibou update

I spent this morning juicing an apple windfall we were given and making apple sauce to freeze. Off to read some garden mags now and have a cuppa. Have a great rest of the day everyone.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                            • Good news about Hibou, I hate it when a pet is ill/injured they are so much a part of our families.

Currently one of mine caught fleas. Both of mine are regularly treated. I've told them they aren't allowed pets, but he ignored me. The fleas are gone but he's still (obviously) got itchy bites. It's driving me nuts, especially as we're sleeping together. Don't be rude, you know what I mean.

I'm living in the lounge whilst my house is being renovated, so I can't put him somewhere else. Does anyone know what I can do to alleviate his itching especially as I can't find the bites because of his coat.
