Happy birthday, dear Veggiemama. Have a lovely day and a wonderful year ahead.

Happy birthday, I'm glad you had lots of treats and a lovely day. Both my sons have Asperger's so I can appreciate your difficulties with food!

Thank you all for your kind wishes.

              Lumpy your cake was delicious.

scarlet, the cake was just from T3scos. I live with husband and 2 boys, so getting a say in anything girly is a struggle :-)
So, i had to have their cake with the roses on it. It was nothing like your cake making and decorating (hope i have that right, that its you who does this.

Verinda, yes it can be difficult with food. BUT, I never give up and it is a lot of hard work, sensitivity and repetition. Progress is being made no matter how small.

We had a lovely evening. The plan was to give the boys their dinner at lunchtime(which i did) and then when husband came home, we would have our starter while the boys had their tea. Then light the candles on the birthday cake and let the boys have theirs. The next thing that was supposed to happen, was for the boys to go to their bedroom and watch a dvd (which is a treat, as we dont allow screens in the bedrooms) and for husband and I to have a romantic meal undisturbed.. Well, that was the plan.

And it almost worked apart from the "not to be disturbed" :-) The boys were in and out of the bedroom so many times. I had got them some lego mixels (as a party bag from me) and they had been playing with them in the kitchen and the living room throughout the day. The were constantly coming out looking for pieces they had dropped, which were actually in the bedroom. They werent too bad though and to be honest husband and i were exhausted anyway.

We had Duck breast, sweet potatoes, home grown potatoes cubed and roasted with spinach and rocket. It was delicious. I had a few glasses of wine but decided i wanted a coffee. So, we both then had a piece of cake (which neither of us wanted because we were full, but thought we had to have a small piece on my actual birthday. Boys were tucked in bed by 9.45pm and we were in bed by 10.30pm....asleep by 10.31pm :-)

It was a lovely day. My dehydrator is set to be delivered today!! I only ordered it on 4th, so that is great service (provided it actually arrives) So, i will be busy checking that out too.

Am also gonna make another nutribullet drink for the boys (theyre gonna love me NOT) The one i made yesterday was delicious. It had spinach, blueberries, strawberrys and banana in it. It tasted great but you should have seen the boys faces when they saw the colour of it...it was a brownish colour :-)
They both tried though...they didnt drink as much as i had wanted them to, but this is a big improvement.

Right better go, got lots to do, and no rain today so gotts try out the wheelbarrow :-)

Thanks again for the kind wishes.
