I have 4 plants and they're all going well just now. We've been eating them for a couple of weeks. My sister came to water (THE GREENHOUSE) while we were away last week and was threatened not to leave any to keep the crop coming. They had several and she took a one big one into work for her boss because she was scared I'd yell her out for leaving it - as if, when she's kept my peppers, toms and aubergines in tip-top condition! (I must be scarier than I thought!)
I can eat them in just about anything and I love them just simply steamed - the delicate flavour really comes out like this. I also use Mrs Beaton's courgette cake recipe occasionally.

So no - no such thing as a glut.

PS tonight's will be stir-fried in chilli oil - a favourite way here.

However I think that is a load of old bull. We have 10 courgette plants of 4 different varieties and will use the vast majority of the courgettes produced either cooked when harvested or used in pasta sauces, bolognese and various dishes for bottling or freezing. Yes we do pick them young, probably 4-5" long but succeed in only having a handful a week spare to give to our daughter.

They make a fabulous "bulking" agent in many dishes and we even slice them really thin for use in salads. Then there is Shelley's courgette soup which we freeze for winter use and is to die for.

Do you guys really have a glut?

No you can't have enough! I don't think so anyway. We have 8 courgette plants (different types) 2 butternut squash, 5 patti pan squash and we love em. Give quite a few away, mind, but we never seem to glut on them.
