Everyone says the moon makes a bulge in the ocean and this causes the tides.
But as the moon rotates around the earth in 29 days that would imply the bulge (tide) would be dragged round the earth every 29 days wih the moon, so a high tide every 29 days, but we get 2 a day.
We say one thing but it doesn't add up right.
So I looked into it in a moment of maddness.

Equally if it were just the moons pull we would get one tide a day(ish) we get two. Try working out the second one.

On a subaqua course they stopped asking me questions, the manual is just so wrong on many of the bouyancy aspects it is untrue.

12 & 12 not bad for a secondary school lad.

As to the question about tides being incorrect you do realise the questions were set in ................America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Full marks for me but my favourite lessons were chemistry (things that go bang), physics and technology.

But really - no one's complained yet about a science quiz having a question about astrology?
