Sorry, I meant customers being too posh to be in the pub. It is hard to say what is right or wrong to say to who, as this thread proves. In fact it reminds me (rather randomly) of an old boy I used to know and I was always polite and he often upset me. I eventually discovered (haven't a clue how) but he found it great when he was insulted and sworn at. Turned out to be lovely after that.
I worked in a hotel bar when we lived in Scotland. It was over Christmas and New Year. I must say it was the second most hateful job I have ever had. Best bit was getting to tell the stuck up gits that the pool tables were all full when they weren't. Bit pathetic but hey it made me feel better at the time.

I worked in a pub in my student days in Manchester. Loved it! enjoyed every minute.
