Does anyone still play them or has the age of Technology taken over?

Scrabble, we never go on holidays without our "travel scrabble".
Also play snakes and ladders, ludo, draughts and chess with the grandkids.
When they get fed up we get out the cards and play with them as well.
Great for passing a rainy day.

Hell yeah. It bring the worst out in everyone I'm my family. Ludo is very competitive as my dad like to wait until people are nearly round and home then huff them back to the beginning. But sulks if anyone else does it to him.
Cluedo but that can get a bit boring and in the end we just all having a rough guess and it turns out none of us are right.
The kids like doing Jenga. For a 5 year old Will is a wiz at it. Also they like Battleship and playing dominoes.
I use to like playing Risk and we had Totopoly but you don't see that around now. Oh and mousetrap the old one not the new basic one they have brought out. Took ages to get that put together.

Board games only used to come out when me or hubby were poorly and in bed. However when the girls are older I intend to encourage them. Powercuts are quite frequent and we have a naff phone signal so hopefully they will only be obsessed with technology 23 hours of the day

Forgot to say we always play monopoly with our grandkids.
This is really interesting watching how they spend their monopoly money.
One of them wants to buy all the properties and the other one doesnt want to part with the cash.
Two different approaches. Gives them some idea of the value of buying and charging rent.

Ingenious is a good game. As with the best games it can be learnt easily and played at a basic level or can get very tactical. Comes out most 25th or 26th December ( can't bring myself to type the dreaded words)

I like playing board games and card games. But have no one to play them with

I think the generation today has lost touch with everything. It's all about technology these days.

Love playing them when all the family gets together. Some of the new ones are so so funny. The game of life was great
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

We play Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble and my husband and son play chess. It's so good to know that board games are still popular it would be horrible if online games took over.

I wanted to add, Pictionary is our favourite
