I agree with jackarmy - September/October have been great months.
I've been trying to get to the plot as much as possible (work permitting) before the clocks go back - then I'm stuffed.
Weekends only soon - depending on the weather.
(although it means I'll probably be posting more inane gibberish on here).......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

I'm into hospital on Thursday for a small op - hernia repair. Should be home same day but a fair period of no lifting afterwards so I've been beavering away trying to get work up to date, spuds lifted in plot, frames I used to grow my show peas and beans cleared and the canes which were new last year taken out of the ground and put away for the winter. I still try to get on here to see what is going on every day though and
I do post if I feel I can contribute anything.

You always contribute something to the Vine - your worldly wisdom, humour and the warmth of your smile. Mine's a large red when the GR opens please. Not sure what BillHH is having

BM - I am thinking how lovely it is to harvest spuds from a fuss free bed. Thank You I would have posted the thank you on another thread but I couldn't remember where I read how you planted yours
Details for anyone wondering. I used to prep the bed, make a trough, plant chitted spuds, cover, trench up, be rubbish at keeping weed free, etc, etc. This year forked over bed, covered with card, covered with poo, several months later planted bits of spud (I was being mean I planted chits, rather than spuds) with a bulb planter then done nothing till I wanted a crop
