Dark mornings can make it harder to get out of bed but dark nights at an earlier time are horrid. Don't really like either. Can't wait until spring now
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
I hate Winter so gonna set my alarm clock for March:

I love the dark nights especially when I'm at home and the fire is on. Actually I like all the seasons and the changes they bring, apart from hot sunshine I'm ok with the rest.
I love dark or light evenings, it's dark mornings I find too grim. There's something a bit exciting about all the usual evening activity going on in the dark. It feels a bit mischievious, like you're staying up late. Dark mornings though - normal, everyday activities like work are no fun in the dark. It just feels like you shouldn't be there.
I'm just getting frustrated because I'm so limited as to when I can get down to my allotment to get clearing it ready for my first season on it. I guess I could go when it's dark, but I'd probably break my ankle falling into one of my plot's many trenches.

Aye, the slugs have more time to play................

As long as it changes throughout the year, I'm happy.
I couldn't be doing with living in the tropics where the sun goes to bed on the dot of six o'clock every single night of the year.
I hate dark nights and think we should have summertime or double summertime all year. If it means kids go to school in the dark change their hours but when I was at school it was always dark when I got home in winter -4.45pm which meant walking the last mile home in the dark and no playing out so even then I'd have preferred darker mornings to darker nights.
I hate the sark evenings. Makes the night feel so long when the blinds are closed and the lights go on before five in the evening.
Plus not a lot to do in the garden or greenhouse either.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
I am in the lead so far BM in the hibernating stakes,i have been in practice on and off last few weeks,am wondering wether it would benefit me setting the alarm, mind you, been up early in the past, sat in the chair and dozed off again for quite a while,no doubt about it,the lighter night do give the body and brains a good boost,

I prefer lighter mornings and darker nights. Pulling the curtains to, settling down with the electric fire lights on is quite cosy for me. Fluffy dressing gown is now out of the wardrobe.
OH has a couple of early morning starts and I find the darker the mornings the more people are half asleep and I need to be more alert first thing.

Haha, that is true, but then so do the hedgehogs, if you're lucky enough to have one living nearby. There's a future not so far away I'm sure where we can buy tiny little roomba-like robots to roam the garden at night getting right of slugs.
I think someone should breed a Venus Slug Trap...........................
