  • Birthday gift ideas for lady in her 60s?

Can anyone help me out with any gift ideas for a lady in her 60s?
She is quite modern and looks after herself, she likes gardening (container) and has loads of pots already, she likes walking with her dog. She is always out and about doing something... We are quite good work friends but I dont know anything beyond that, oh she also likes cat stevens and is the mod on his website.
What could I get this lady for her birthday?

I'm sure Anne Summer's will have something within your price range.
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

        Alcohol.....

What do you mean, you need more options!!!!

        Flowers
        Chocolates
        Gardening related gift voucher.

Probably not helpful. I couldn't come up with an original idea, if my life depended on it!

Wow! That's a lot of money to spend on someone you don't know very well - or am I tight?
How about planting a layered pot of bulbs for her.Buy a nice big pot and plant it yourself. Put a ribbon on it to make it special - and a bag of dog treats

I like the idea of dog treats!!

Plus some unusual bulbs...there are loads to choose from at this time of year....and let her choose her own tub cos you may not share the same tastes...unless you have seen her garden????

Garden centre vouchers are ALWAYS welcome

Is this with a view to romance or strictly platonic? Somebody had to ask

I love doing little hampers for people. Fill it with whatever ever you want, food, dog treats, bulbs etc or a nice mix.
With 30 pounds you can get wine and cheese and all sorts in there.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

You could get her a book on container gardening and a gardening diary.
I got a lovely Sarah Raven garden diary, Grow, Cook, Eat diary 2016.
I would be very pleased to receive these as gifts and I am older than your friend.
Add a nice boquet of flowers as well.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

How about the new Elvis album, it's really & VERY clever the original music track has been removed & has music played by the Philharmonic Orchestra in it's place, or maybe the new Darcy Bussle one full f great balet tunes

Unless you know she likes those things then I'd keep well away, very much the sort of thing that anybody would love or hate down to personal taste. I like the hamper ideas though, think the nicest presents are when you get a higher quality of something that you couldn't justify for yourself.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
