Well, the roast beef turned out just great. Cooked it slightly rare, sliced the unrarest and wrapped in foil in bottom of oven. Re wrapped the remainder and shoved that back in to cook. Was done just right when we sliced it up later.
Gravy was divine, made totally with meat juices, runner bean water and flour. Just like my mum did lol.
Trifle for pudding. Lovely.
Then the little GG and I made our first mince pies together. Came out great.
Good day more or less all round
Have a good evening
Tree still not up...cleaning not finished..decorations partly up....
Nicos when you start things you should plan them out so that you get them finished quickly, and you should leave the OH at the tileing, a night on the tiles might reinvigerate him

Good evening Folks, a very cold start to the day here, temperature at -3 and foggy, but did brighten up for a short time, though still very cold put lights onto some bushes in the garden, then dragged to do some shopping, and as usual I dont get what I want, there was an offer on for a ltr. bottle of whisky for 15.0 but was told it was too expensive, but OH can buy whatever she wants, a makeup pack with face cream 25.0 that ok to get, women are so unfair. Well I wish you all a good night and a trouble free week. I am going to pluck up the courage to tell OH the bottle of whisky would have hidden the wrinkles cheaper. Goodnight

Morning all. Feel pretty rough this morning. Insomnia and bad stomach have started up again so think I had about 3 hours kip last night So going back to bed one the kids are at school.
My sister came up on Saturday and we had a nice day together. She brought me a little envelope that's not to be opened until Christmas. So hopefully its garden vouchers
Anyway have a good day everyone.
Bit murky out there this morning but still exceptionally warm for the time of year. With the current forecast in the lead up to Xmas it does not look like my parsnips will get frosted but that's life.
New carpets being laid today so will probably be on tea making duties!
Well I got our Christmas tree down out of the loft yesterday and was just taking it out of its box when Mrs H said, "Why don't we have a real tree this year?". So this morning the fake tree goes back in the loft and we're going out shopping for a real one.
I might get down the allotment later if it stays dry.

Good morning all. Another wet morning here.
Off into town to find an elusive gift.
My daughter -in-law is looking for a certain gift for my son and she cant locate it. So, as I have some time on my hands I offered to hunt it down for her.
Wish me luck.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
Bit cold here although just above freezing. Just about to head off to buy an electric overblanket for my elderly aunt. not the time of year to be without one
Feeling tired after an "indulgent" weekend so need to recharge somehow.. But also have to get on with some gift buying....haven't the drive to do it today tho
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
