Little and often and we'll barely notice it.
On the gardening front, I only had one onion failure, went to take it out, and I'd planted it the wrong way round - doh

      • Morning its a good day here no fog, mist or rain so the plan is after raking the leaves, call in the butchers for some bacon then go for a bit of a stroll.

                  • Dank and dreich in the silver city this morning. My pal's coming over to square up my shed door for me. Should have had it done before I went into hospital but just clean forgot about it. It needs to be lifted to close it. Screws have just rusted away and it has sunk out of shape. Never mind, 10 minutes with a box of new screws and the electric screwdriver and it will be good as new and I just have to lever one end up with my foot on a board like a see saw. Application of physics (or is it mechanics).

                    • Morning all dull and dreich here too! Up at 5.30am with the dogs so decided that rather than have a fight with them I'd take my pillow downstairs with me and sleep on the couch. Let them out of the kitchen, lay down on the couch and completely ignored them, even the waggy tails looking for a cuddle. 2 minutes later they are back in bed snoring! A couple of hours sleeping on the couch was better than half an hour yelling at them to get back to bed! Today they will not be allowed to sleep at all!
Hope you all have a great day...good luck Lisa to your OH on his hospital visit.

                      • Mornin all!

Got rained off in the garden...boo hoo...the upside is that I can light the fire and get stuck into some sewing

Hibou update- the swelling behind her eye/roof of mouth is starting to shrink too!

Had to go and get 3 more weeks worth of antibiotic tablets yesterday
....and 'our' vet said 'it'd be easier to take her eye out'

I'm going to try and prove him wrong with every effort I can! ** puts on 'stubborn hat'
( even the specialist says he wouldn't remove an eye which had full vision.)

                        • Morning all. Happy Friday
Well I do believe this will be my 2,000 post Can't believe I've nearly been on the Vine for 2 years now.
Very wet and damp here again so allotment is out. Haven't been there for nearly a week now
Forgot to say last night I took Han for her eye test and she is fine. Optician rates her vision between 95% and 98%. She does have a slight stigmatism in her left eye but nothing to worry about. Got to go back in 6 months just for another check up.
                          Have a good day everyone

                            • Morning all We dashed off out this morning to do a quick shop for family coming this weekend. Managed to buy a CD player for my little girl from tesco nice red one reduced to £20. Can't wait to see her face when she opens it Christmas morning. I know she'll love it as she's always singing to herself and dancing around. So that's one pressie crossed off the list.

It is raining again - such a shame as it's not cold just blooming wet. Having a quick sit down with cuppa before doing a major clean up on the house.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                              • Shed door repaired and I persuaded my pal to take us to a fairly local farm shop/restaurant where we had a full cooked breakfast with real sausages and bacon. Really nice but I couldn't eat it all. Never mind, got me out of the house for a while
