* clinks keys....yup...still snug and safe in my pocket
Hibou update...
Not so good actually .Don't read this is you are munching your brekkie!!!!!
Was vastly improving apparently until Friday when the lump on her neck burst.
It's a massive abcess which is now draining and has been doing for the past few days.
Her eyelids and inner eyelid are also more swollen and red but the eye isn't pushed anymore forwards.
Not nice at all, and very smelly.
Our friends have done an amazing job with her and I could weep with relief.
We're going to send piccies to the eye specialist to see what he suggests.
My gut feeling is that this is a good thing as it's finally coming out but the antibiotics only last another week, so I need to find out what his plans are now the situation has changed.
She's a little star and actually enjoys having her neck gently rubbed/ massaged with warm tissues to clean it up.
Thanks for asking AP....I was sort of hoping that it would all have slowly been absorbed...but apparently not.
She loved her cuddles when we got back home ( not easy with a stinky cat I can tell ya)
Me update.....
Hit the ground running....slept like a baby....managed to put on weight....just need to do the final unpacking this morning and then we can concentrate on the next 3 weekends of my stand at the Xmas Fairs.
Still loads to prepare ( got some lovely minty candy canes to integrate into decorations) and also , of course the ongoing kitchen!
Lovely to get back into our normal routine...but lovely to have spent time with our family and sample Xmas food!

Grey, damp and dull here. I really need to do some clear up in the garden really but I've a few jobs in the office and then I'm going to make a sugar Santa
Morning all, the boiler talk in another post made me finally turn the stat up enough for the heating to come on.
Glad to say it all worked ok, only one radiator needed bleeding and I am now sweating buckets lol
Our little back boiler has been with us 34 years, it will be a sad day - not - when she gives up,
Having friends round for a soirée tonight, Indian takeaway, delivered of course and copious amounts of prosseco.
Whilst writing this just got a call to cover a poorly volunteers shift at the charity shop, so best be off.
Frantic cleaning, scrubbing and hoovering to be done before they get here
I am in the same boat as you Nico´s, our cat had an massive abscess on her neck that burst some point last week, i rushed her into the vets on Saturday as that is when we noticed. Going to take her back today as she is just a walking skeleton now after a week on pretty much not eating. She seems unsteady on her feet as well, i do not know if its because she is weak or something else, as she has been loosing weight ever since we lost our other cats to poisoning. Oh the worry they give us.
Beautiful day here, sun is shining so will hopefully pick a lot more olives. My feet are itching to go to the market but i really do not need anything, a few more onions but thats it. Maybe if i get chance
Have a nice day x
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them
Good luck Lisa....fingers crossed she can be sorted quickly.
At least Hibou is still eating.
We too have drizzle, but I'm not complaining!.....we were greeted by hailstones when we arrived in the Lake District.....and flooding.
My heart goes out to those people who have or might soon ,yet again, have their homes flooded.

Morning all, yes you think you have problems! Hope everyone is safe from Barney when he arrives.
I'm so tired this morning I feel like going back to bed. It's dry at the moment but that all has to change later. It's dark and cold...when does summer arrive?
Lisa, our dog Alfie had a huge abscess which burst. He wasn't eating either and lost a lot of weight and was also very unsteady on his feet. Once the abscess was drained and the antibiotics kicked in he started eating little bits of chicken and is now almost back to his usual self. Weighed him last night and he has put weight on so hopefully your little cat will be the same.
Poor old Hibou...she is a fighter isn't she! Go girl!
I've not touched the iron since the last of the guests left ( both gites now closed for building work)... I have 2 ironing baskets full of 10 duvet covers, 10 sheets and 24 pillowcases hidden somewhere in the house!!!!
Utter bliss!
Having said that, lol ...but I'll need to do some of them before the family come to stay at Xmas

Morning all. Dull and breezy here, rain on the way soon. Looks like another day for some indoor jobs. It's still far too early in the year but I might have to start planning to think about Christmad preparations soon. Blleaugh.
But, why did nobody tell me there was a second series of Detectorists running on the BBC? I caught up last night, after three episodes the plot is thickening nicely. I hadn't realised how rare it is nowadays to have a comedy without a laughter track. You really have to listen carefully! Anyway, if you want to catch up on iPlayer you've only got another week before they take Episode 1 away. Episode 4 on Thursday on BBC4.
Martin...I had to buy and wrap to hand out all my UK pressies before we went to the UK...
I had a lovely afternoon with my mom writing Xmas cards for her to post nearer the time.
All very strange in November!
I've also bought mince pies,Xmas pud, Xmas cake, napkins , advent calanders, selection boxes etc to bring back with me...and cooked an Xmas Dinner for the family on Sunday.
Waay too soon really, but lovely all the same
