  • Morning all
It's cold and drizzly here and still quite dark. So a perfect day to go beating for the local pheasant shoot. Wonder if I will fall in the bog again this year.

Just wondering if the custard split or separated which it can do if cooked on too high a heat - bit overly sensitive I think. But yum, love egg custard tart
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

      • Brrrrr chilly morning everyone It's just a fraction colder than yesterday with a very noticeable grond frost. The flowers that were out and looking happy just a day a go have now drooped and all look sad Think they're a gonna.

Bird bath was frozen and I wasn't strong enough to break the ice so I just topped it up. Had to fill all the feeders too so looks like I need to make a trip to buy more seed.

Planning to: stay inside as much as poss, keep warm, crochet. Drool over my seed packets

You should try growing some sunflowers and different bits net year and saving the seed for the winter for the birds, if i did not have my ladies eating all that kind of stuff i would safe it for the winter.
Bet you have to keep it high up so your little kitty does not her their paws on them.

            • Good morning everyone.

We survived the night, I've stripped the sheets of plants, was very weird last night like putting them to bed only have to worry about tonight and then back to normal.

Sunny but chilly this morning, going to get a couple of loads of washing on today, nothing like clothes drying in crisp winds.
Hopefully some more olive picking, it really is taking its time, but i am hand picking as i do not want to bash the trees around.

Last night i was trying to catch up with my gardening notes as i have been lazy with them and it was really handy looking back on here seeing when i had picked my first ....... etc and i sowed my ...... etc

Any way stop blabbing to yourself Lisa!!

              Have a nice day x

              • Good morning, well another Monday. How quick the weeks pass by.
Agrey day here but at least its dry.
No plans just yet so I will see how the day works out.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Do the side adverts for Tom Kerridge's Kitchin Favourites look more like someone has used a fork to clear a blocked sink ?

Yes - we were hoping to grow sunflowers this year and none came up so my little girl was very disappointed in that! I think it was the only thing I tried to grow that didn't even germinate They're meant to be easy as well I think!

I will try again next year - put it down to the strange weather I guess

I have been like a mad thing today, i have planted 1000´s of seeds. Even a few experimental tomatoes. It is very chilly tonight so have tucked in the courgettes in nicely OH actually thinks i have gone bonkers tucking them in at night. Maybe i have!

Off to the market tomorrow, yay means buying more onions seedlings and what ever else takes my fancy
