        • Morning, its a good day here no rain and just a bit of wind so I'll be collecting the last of the leaves then going for a bit of a stroll.

We went straight from summer bedding to winter complete with the electric blanket. I hate feeling cold in bed.

          • Good morning fellow grapes
I am in quite a good mood this morning, (makes a change )
Have to get on and finish picking the last of the olives today, must do it. BM my pic should be snails carrying buckets of olives!!! sums up a lot of my life at the moment.
It´s a little cloudy so hoping it will clear.
So many jobs to do and staying in today to make sure they get done as out the house for the rest of the week. Really looking forward to our break next week, countdown has begun 9 days to go.

Have a lovely day everyone x
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

            • I heard somewhere- might have been on here- that a trick for truck drivers to stay awake at the wheel was to blow cold air on their feet.
You can't sleep with cold feet apparently.

the extra warmth certainly made a difference last night.

                • Good morning all.
Well, back to earth alter last nights Simply Red concert. Two rows from the front and the atmosphere was magical.
Off out for a walk this morning and then meeting up with my sister to choose the wording on my mothers headstone because we would like it done for Christmas.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • I had (yet another) argument with my son (kitchen coordinator), he left me in tears and I don't cry easily. Is it me? He says I'm not pulling my weight. His argument is the amount of work he and his girlfriend are doing. I can't argue with that but I'm 68 with very dodgy knees that I can't kneel on. Everything I say sounds like a lame excuse. I don't know how to deal with it.

                    • I doubt in all honesty that anybody can issue useful advice on that Janie, working with/for family members is either great or "the pits", there seems to be no grey area.

                      • Is it too late for you to employ someone to finish the work, Janie? All you have to do then is make them tea every hour and sit back and let them get on with it.

Janie, the fact is, our children do not see, or even think of us as being old and continue to expect so much of us.
Be gentle but firmly tell him you are doing the best you can.
