  • Good morning all. Well peace reigns here. Complete stillness after the mondter Desmond swept through.
There is not s move from the trees and there is no rain either.
The sky is looking bright, so theres hope for a nice day.
    Stay safe all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

    • Good morning all,
Hope you are all safe, and keeping safe.
We had a lovely meal out last night just nice to sit and talk even though we spend all our time together 24/7 sometimes you do not take the time to relax and chat.
Going to plant a load of seeds today.

      Have a lovely sunday x

      • Morning all. Lovely and shiney out but I haven't sampled it yet. I'm now on the up after having had an orrible cold. Couldn't keep up with my running nose and felt my throat was cut. I'm blaming it on my flu jab and the pneumococcal one I had at the same time. Ah well, hopefully one or both of them will protect me from further illness.

Just been pricing some Chempak base composts for some of my exhibition stuff. It is criminal what some folks are charging. I'm shopping around and singing that to a Kylie song. Think it was I'm spinning around?

have a nice day all and where there is flooding, please stay safe. We walked around Cockermouth a couple of years back and saw how they had been affected by flooding there and it was truly amazing/mind blowing but the folks there came through it and improved flood defences etc. Of course, there isn't much can be done against the full force of nature except trying to keep out of its way which sometimes just isn't possible.

Another lazy day for me I thinks.. Best get some newspapers
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

          • Morning all...there's a big orange, fiery glow in the sky, does anyone know what it is?!! At long last the rain has stopped. The roads were bad last night...went to watch the hockey v Cardiff (they won ) but nothing compared to what the Borders and Cumbria have had to put up with. My heart goes out to them, it was only 6 years ago they had to go through the same thing. Hope you are all safe and dry.

            • Just had a trip to the plot for some veg for a pot of soup. First time I've been there for weeks. Immediately I noticed my sprouts seemed to have been decimated and only on Thursday I promised my daughter she would have some from me for hers xmas lunch. Anyway, a young fox had somehow snarled itself up in the net I had over the sprouts to protect them from pigeons. The plants within reach of the fox had actually been eaten including a couple of big pot leeks in the adjacent row. Rubber gloves on and pen knife used to cut the net to get the beastie clear but it had clearly been dead for some time. I have high fences all round the plot too so no idea how it got in.

I'm not a fan of urban foxes at all but I wouldn't have wished that to happen to one. Normally I would have been around almost daily so would have been able to get it free but hernia op put an end to that so good night miss or master fox. I'm so disappointed

Well, Rary, I have another one for you to look out for - it's the word FINE. That one is used many ways too.
Yes Hazel I have been the recipient of that word quite a lot, and it can send a shiver through me, and not one of anticipation
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                      • Good evening Folks, I do hope every thing is fine with you all and you dont have too much damage with the wind and rain (I have just realised I have used the word Hazel warned me about but I do mean it as in good health and safe) Well today hasnt been to bad some light showers but a cold wind, the ground is absolutely saturated, and much as I dont like the winds (I have seen it as the cause of too many accidents) it is needed to dry out the ground.Last night I got an other definition of that the word nothing, it means nothing, Ah well such is life, I now have to fit a blind into the newly decorated room, I wonder if there is a Grape with experiance of fitting blinds who would like to take a "trip" to fit it for me Well I wish you all a very good night, and remember gents when SWMBO asks you to do some decorating, have a good look round and note what may need to be removed, repositioned or renewed for if you think any of these may apply you can bet she will find another half dozen things "you" need to do "just to finish it off".......Goodnight
