You need to sack the lot of 'em Janie, I'm sure it would be less stressful for you.

Morning all. Well I hope everyone is ready or near enough ready for the big day tomorrow. I am nipping over to my mom and dads to pick some pigs in blankets up. Home made.
Then its home to watch some movies with the kids.
Really sorry to hear you are having son trouble Janie. How old is he just asking? You should point out that the more money you have to spend to his wims etc the less inheritance he will get. My nan did it on my uncle. Worked out an hourly rate of her running about after him and sorting his stuff out. Owed her a lot of money by the end of a week.
Anyway have a good day everyonesigpic

Oh dear, Himself is reeling in shock. He's been to pick up the turkey and it's cost him a lot, even though we're going out for dinner tomorrow. He says it's corn-fed, hand reared and even has it's own thermometer. Calm down dear, when you get it out of the box it will probably sing and dance as wellGranny on the Game in Sheffield

Mornin Flo'nall !
Good grief Janie!
Ok....charity shops...buy mix n match sets of cutlery and crockery ...wrap them as gifts...give them to each guest as they arrive.
They can then either keep them or leave them to go back to the charity shop. after the event.
Your guests are coming to see you and enjoy your food....cutlery, crockery table etc shouldn't matter ."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Te he...I've been naughty!
My son has an Xmas jumper with trees, snowflakes on it.
He's very chuffed with it.
It happens to have a couple of small reindeer on it.
So, when he wasn't watching, I snook upstairs with it ,grabbed my needle and thread, and sewed a couple of red bobbles on them for noses.
Wonder when he'll notice?"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Morning all, still quite mild here, going to have a Buck's Fizz at the charity shop this morning.
Need to make lemon curd before that as a present.
Toying with cooking the meat and veg today and just popping it all in the oven to reheat tomorrow. We are having an early dinner as our Grandchildren are both departing for another Christmas dinner elsewhere.
Anyone ever done this?
Please let me know

Why not NS...just go for it.
The cauli may go rubbery, but you could mash the carrots and roast the pre cooked spuds tomorrow.
Much easier!

Morning all - absolutely chucking it down here now. Out to collect the turkey in about an hour. Today I shall be cleaning (yes, I know!!!) then making stuffings. I am cooking the bird in the morning then loading up the car with presents and hot turkey and my overnight bag, collecting No 2 son en route and we are all decamping to No 1 son's for dinner. On 27th we are then all decamping again to Herefordshire to see the rest of the family. It will be lovely Have a super time whatever you do. I shall start to think about gardening again on 2 January.
