  • Morning all, happy christmas eve

We have got to go to icelands to pick up the last few bits and they close at 1pm so better get a move on. I will be driving past the garden centre but think i will give it a miss as it has not been very good for quite a long time.
It does feel strange as we are not doing christmas till boxing day when i am surprising visiting family with all the works but bet they will be sick of it because they will also be having xmas lunch on xmas day, am i confusing anyone yet

Anyway should get on have a lovely hopefully stressless day x
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

    • Morning all! Absolutely bucketing down here! That will stop the shoppers....I may get a few bargains later if I can be bothered

GL, I've suddenly decided that I would like one of those vacuum Packers.how can one dinner take up so much fridge space? My guests don't arrive till 3/4 tomorrow so I'll have plenty of time in the morning. We will have some smoked salmon for lunch as that's no1 sons favourite

      Have a good day all!

      • Good morning all. The weather is dry and sunny here but very windy.
I will be cooking the ham and the turkey today and will prepare the potatoes and veg this evening.
We will go to midnight mass tonight which will leave tomorrow morning free for visiting family.
Before that though, I have to make another ton of sandwiches to keep son and his staff going throughout today which will be his busiest.
        Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

What a selfish bu@@er, sounds like he needs a firm boot up the backside and to grow up a little!! If my boys treated me like that they would soon know who was boss

I've a few other words for people like him. Sadly they aren't printable.

          • I've made 2lb of pastry, ready for mince pies, a sherry trifle with homemade custard with eggs yolks left over from the meringues that I'm cooking for a friend in need. 12 meringues are in the slow oven and a chocolate brownie cooking in the other. My niece and nephew don't like Xmas pud! As soon as they are done I'm off to the shops

            • I got wet threw this morning out on my round. At my mum and dads house for a bit before I have to go back out for work.

Had to go with dad to pick my mums Christmas present he wanted to get her. Well I choose it so I know she will like it, didn't want him get her something wrong size or what she don't like.

The cauli may go rubbery, but you could mash the carrots and roast the pre cooked spuds tomorrow.

                  Much easier!
They're coming to see you,so don't make it frantic for yourself
We take it all over to their house Nicos, Miss Bipolar struggles every day, so we have always taken dinner over for them.
Luckily, I am really laid back and not a lot frazzles me, just a timing thing. Might just do the roast spuds, sprouts and carrots, then the turkey and gammon.
Whatever happens, we will all sit down together, however briefly.

                        • I only have myself to blame took 5 different shops to be able to find some sprouts but i have some now. Got ripped of at the butchers and i did not realise till i was home, they forgot to discount the deposit, i knew i was a veggie for a reason Spanish friend popped over whilst i was out bringing wine and tones of different cake, i do not know what the hell i will do with them all. Theres only 2 of us.

I have so much to do but for some reason i am sat on the sofa looking at GYO, move your ass Lisa!
