  • Daytime TV

Isn't it just the pits. Tried watching it for a while as the Vine is a bit quiet but it's enough to send a delicate soul over the edge.(I'm not delicate btw).

On the positive side, I've spent about an hour listening to youtube reminding myself about some of my favourites e.g. Garm Parsons and Emmylou Harris. Also listened to a few Seekers songs. Btw, Judith is now over 70 and had a brain haemorrage which thankfully she has recovered from. Her voice was something else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ga9Bs4fzSY

Now watching Wheeler Dealers, same one that was on yesterday

What do we pay our money for ?

I have to suffer day time TV when I go see my grandad. Some of the programs are so bad they are funny!

For daytime TV, if there's no decent sport on I end up switching to BBC News or BBC Parliament. I have it on the computer while doing other stuff.

I don't watch daytime TV but I can imagine how dire it is from witnessing some things my elderly relatives watch and I'd rather sit and stare into space than do the same.

Can you not get iplayer or itvplayer to watch something of choice on catchup? Or watch a digital movie or dvd? I like listening to audiobooks or reading.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

I download my favourite music and songs from Spotify and then when i am stuck indoors I play them all knowing theyre all the songs I love.
                And its free.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

As someone who doesn't watch any soaps, I often feel the same about the evening programmes

AP I am doing some decorating, if you come over I will paint a section of my wall and you could watch the paint dry, I am sure that would be better than watching telly
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I must agree with you AP daytime TV is really bad. Why would you want to go on national TV to air your dirty linen is beyond me. I don't watch the soaps either, they are just depressing.
OH has got You tube on at the moment and is listening to Stop that train by Clint Eastwood & General Saint. Just had Public Image Limited on a moment ago.

I have to say AP you have wonderful taste!!!!

Judith Durham along with Dusty Springfield when she was singing with the Springfield's two of the finest female voice's of the last century, both just so natural.

I cannot listen to the likes of the Leaving of Liverpool or the Eriskay Love Lilt without a tear rolling down my cheek. So many, many memories.

Another song would be Island of Dreams, I first heard that on a juke box in a café on Wollaton Road Beeston. 1962 and a fresh faced apprentice I had just carried the tool bag from Bramcote and my fitter treated me to a cup of tea before another 2 mile walk to Beeston Rylands.
