My mam used to work in a charity shop and she would just take things, at work we have a shelf in the staff room that stuff that cant be sold again goes on and we donate when we take stuff to our charity of the year, think this year is banardos.

    Something should always be given

I can chuck anything, if it's not being used its best off with someone else. I really hate "stuff", gadgets and things - according to my OH I haven't got a sentimental bone in my body. I don't like ornaments either! If we go to a concert the OH will bring home the programme . If it's not been used for six months it's out! I like to use my cupboards - not open them and half the contents fall out. That would make me feel mad. I've always read books, the minute it's been read I pass it on. I've never understood why people keep magazines either and as for the bathroom....why do people keep more than one bottle of shampoo open?

My local charity shop will come and collect it if it's large which is brilliant if it's heavy too.

Because it's healthier for your hair to swap it about and prevent build up, simples.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I love to clear out junk. My clothes are on a strict rule if not worn in the year, it's charity next year. I do love kitchen gadgets though but as I love cooking they get used very often. oH won't throw anything away. He still has stuff from uni. He was 50 last year.

Possibly not a good idea VC. My brother moved into my grandmothers house when she died. He used the spare room, didn't touch a thing for weeks. He said he just couldn't throw anything of hers away....I thought he needed a push in the right direction so went along one weekend and rolled up my sleeves, everything went that wasn't useful a few weeks later he said, it's strange, she didn't have much cash in her purse and she always kept much more than she needed at home. I knew her hiding place , I gave all those old spare blankets to the charity shop!
