It was a it breezy last night, but apart from finding a neighbours blow away in the garden, everything seems ok. I have a feeling things will be different at the lotty though.

No wind here during the night but torrential rain. It's been constant for days now and we can't walk on the lawn at all so still the leaves are lying untouched! Glad everyone is safe and not much damage done.
Janie, I would check your houses deeds as has been said already fences are usually 50/50.

Very windy in the night and howling this morning but so far it's nothing unusual thankfully.

And everyone else who suggested this.

I already know what my deeds and my neighbours deeds say on this subject as we had a boundary dispute a few years ago.

Looking out from my backdoor my deeds say that the I have to "erect and maintain a post and wire fence" on my left. Ditto for my neighbour on my right. The 2 neighbours to my left have both bought houses that had stayed in the ownership of the original family until recently so have no such statements in their deeds.

Having said that, to put an end to the dispute whilst the property on my right (it was 2 properties at the time, now knocked into one) was up for sale, I had a fence erected but 18 inches into my garden. A lot better than the 5 foot they were claiming! In the end it was bought by the owners daughter who already lived there. She has never said a word about it.

It could be argued in these circumstances that I'm responsible for both fences. I do know that in law, despite what the deeds say, there is no requirement to have a fence at all. I'm just responsible for containing my dogs. As far as I'm concerned they can wait 'til the spring as long as they are safe.

We had 50+ miles an hour winds here. It was that bad that I went to pick the kids up in the car. I had them holding on to my coat very tight and I had a tight grip on them especially by the side of the road.
Next doors greenhouse has had a battering. It a poly carbon one. I found a carbon sheet against my car last night and have noticed that they have lost another one during the night.
Our fencing on the decking has been really battered. Several panels have been damaged and one is a totally battered. Letting agents were doing a visit this morning so they have said they will inform the landlord again. Thing is last storm we had damaged a panel and the landlord was meant to of sorted it out then but didn't. So will see if he turns up this time to have a look and sort it out.
Lots of branches are down on the pavements but no major damage locally thank fully.

Must have been lucky, apart from 1/2 hour picking up dustbin lids no problems.

Blew a window open on the old poly GH that now has a lead weight tied to it.

I gained a whole shed - unfortunately it had landed on one of my apple trees!
