I'd advise all to get one, we've got a large one which is a great investment - load it up before work and let it do its thing, however as mentioned before - we sometimes add some gravy granules, stock cubes, or other additional seasoning agent prior to serving for additional taste.
As an aside -we always use lentils as an ingredient to bulk it up, which has on occasion led me to scour this site searching for growing lentils, apparently it's not worth the hassle.
