Hi guys. Don't know if this is the right forum to post this on, but I am having great difficulty following the thread of the Gardeners rest. Every time I click on yet he next page Safari is switched off and I end up on my desk top. This only seems to happen on the gardeners rest thread. Is it me or is it the GYO

I had problems on safari the other day (iPad) couldn't get on here,it was taking ages to load the page, then it said something about time out. So I went through google to load the grow your own forum & it worked, just type google in the search (or any other search provider you like). Hope it solves itself, mine did after a couple of days.Location : Essex

I access the Grapevine through Google and it's generally fine. From time to time it chucks me out suddenly and I have to press restore. It only does this on my IPad, my laptop's OK."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

My iPad kept restoring the page- particularly on the Vine - until I updated it to iOS 9.1.
Not had a problem since
And yep...Safari.
Maybe an update is worth considering?
Just a thought cos I have absolutely no idea about these things!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

I tried updating this iPad 2 a few months ago,it's the old model so you need to plug it into the laptop to update & save everything first. It was taking about 2 days to update,I unplugged it in the end & am staying with the 4.3 iOS. Maybe I should update it without saving everything, but then I'd lose everything. Or I should have updated it sooner, instead of waiting about 5 years. In the end I thought life's to short to worry about this!Location : Essex

JJ Regardless of updating you should back up the iPad. You never know when it might die on you. Once you've got back up on laptop, back that up too. USB sticks are relatively cheap for photos and documents.
Make sure your iTunes program on laptop is updated first. Have a look at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204136
