  • WHY? Do we do it to ourselves

I have just watched a film that i knew from the very start would make me break my heart.
The crying started more than an hour away from the end of the film and continued ( appart from massive belly laughs ) right untill the end of the film.
I wasnt even really concentrating that hard lol as i was watching/semi watching in the kitchen whilst fiddling with the puter which just made it more weird.

I actually didnt look at the tv for the last 20 minutes as i was quite litterally sobbing uncontrolobly at times, something that happens pretty rarely .

    Anyway
The film was MARLEY AND ME and as i stated earlier, everytime i watch it i break my heart, is there a film, book, song or anything else that has the same effect on you ?

Red eyed and with a huge headache

Jack, ( just had to share my pain )...........

Yes, its always music for me.
Brings back so many memories and even though I know this, I will still listen and cry when I hear something sad.
The music from The Lion King just brings me down every time.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I always have a sob with the film 'Love Actually'...right at the beginning...greeting friends and family at the airport.
          Gets me every time!

that's probably because that situation applies to me several times a year

Actually, if it upsets you, I don't want to see it. I get upset when Bambi's Mother dies and that's a cartoon

Ah, but it almost is, VC, it's based on "Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog", New York Times bestselling autobiographical book by journalist John Grogan.

i've read the book but not seen the film. The book did not make me cry. Not the sentimental type, me

The story probably is emotional but I couldn't get past how irritating Jennifer Anniston was so gave up pretty early on, always amazes me that she still has a career as her acting is woeful. Don't really tend to cry very often at films though, it's real life stuff that gets me if anything does.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Oh dear. I was watching this and because my husband wanted to watch the news I put the last 40 minutes on to record with the plan of watching it later...........I better get the tissues ready.

Turner and Hooch always makes me cry.

I cried virtually all the way through "About Time" when we went to the cinema. It's about families, dads and sons particularly. At the time my dad had been diagnosed with a serious heart condition needing surgery and eldest son was about to return to uni. It's no better watching it on dvd.
